    250SX SuperTrapp exhaust head pipe.

I bought a SuperTrapp muffler from a member here a while back. I told him not to bother sending the head pipe because I had lots of those kicking around already. I finally go to install the muffler, and there's no way this thing will go on my SX...no way. So now I'm wondering if the muffler is for some other machine, or if the head pipe has to be a SuperTrapp one to allow the muffler to work on the SX. Was I that stupid? Is the SuperTrapp head pipe for the SX different from the stock head pipe?

I can't post a pic tonight...I don't have one. The guy I bought it from said he took it off of an SX, and I believe him. It was my idea to just send the muffler without the head pipe. I took the engine out of a parts trike and installed in my SX with the head pipe still on the engine. This is when I noticed that the SuperTrapp would not work. It would be almost impossible to get the muffler to slip on over the head pipe because the muffler is not shaped correctly to snake in around the frame to reach the head pipe.So I'm guessing that the SuperTrapp head pipe must be 3-5 inches longer and wraps around that frame upright. Even if I could get the muffler to slip on right now, it wouldn't work because it would be hanging off at about a 45 degree angle from the rear fender. I will just mod up an extra head pipe to make it work...no big deal..I have extras...lol.

Well, the engine came out of a Big Red and the stock SX muffler fits like a glove...so I think so. As to whether or not SuperTrapp made a head pipe specific to this application...that's exactly what I'm trying to find out.

The cone may be for another application; I have not seen a ST header for an SX either...............

The ST for the SX was a full system with head pipe. I have a full system on my SX and I only know of two others. The back half will not work with the stock head pipe.

That means there rare and expensive. If you have any welding/braising skills, you can make it work but it won't be the full system. I bet the header on the full system is just a bit larger and better flowing.......

I installed a full DG RCM exhaust on my BR...system was listed for a 250sx.
The DG header pipe is not at all the same as the stock header pipe...so I'm guessing it's the same story for the SuperTrapp.

DG header pipe fit just right...but the back half (muffler section) was a bit long, and the mounting points were about 1/2 an inch off for the BR vs. 250sx.
