Idk I look at it as if you're disappointed in something you built/rebuilt completely, then you should have done it different while it was happening.

Plus I just generally love working on bikes. I've seen stuff that other people have done that was disappointing. But I've yet to be disappointed in anything I've done. Of course I have yet to mess up with a bike build too.

Well,,,, I am kinda disappointed I didn't go with white plastics at first with this one. And I am disappointed I have waaaaayyyyy too much money in an ATC110 build but that's whatever.

Also, side note,,, here's a 92 LT250R with a Rob Madison 92 National's mill I'm building for a buddy for his 10 year old daughter.

I don't know, I look at it as you are very young and obviously don't have any concept of humility.......

    How's that 110 coming?

I look at it as you need to back off and remember that we all do this for the fun of it. Nothing's serious enough for you to need to be disappointed. I genuinely worry for you.

110 is coming along. Got front brake caliper mount made, heads finished, found some oversized valves for it. Now I just gotta find a true VM24 or 22 and it'll be ready to go back together and rock.

Words of wisdom from the enlightened I'm sure...

Some of us do this for the life of it. That's how some of us know your quad doesn't weigh 239 lbs.

I know you can't hear me over the voices telling you that you are just as knowledgeable as somebody thats been doing this for 20 years, and who does it every day as a means to pay the bills, not just have fun. So I WILL back off, with respect to your age and lack of ability to understand where I am coming from.

Best of luck with your hobby C.J

No I do understand where you're coming from.

I also do this to pay my bills. Cell phone, truck insurance, lights and cable/internet are all covered by my working on bikes. I still do it JUST to have fun. I don't get bent out of shape by other people over it like you do Mr. Delete-a-thread.

Sit back from the computer, go for a ride, and remember what you originally got into this sport/hobby for: The fun of it.
You CAN have fun with it.

You confused me with you 'disappointing bikes, disappointed builds' bit and I've been asking a BUNCH of people if they've ever been disappointed by anything they've built, even the "flops" and not a single person has. And I'm not talking just weekend warrior people either man.

You think I'm not listening to what you say and am just trying to argue with you,, I'm not. I'm just trying to figure out why you're all sideways about it. You're bitter over nothing.

Go for a ride, take a break, remember where your passion for the sport/hobby come from. THEN try and convince yourself you are disappointed in anything bike-related.

I've ridden my trike 3 times for a total of about twenty miles so far.

    Today.

Although I do love my bike, there are several things I'm a little disappointed with, so I'm going to make them better. That's how it works.

Finally got my nerfs on and the Cancilla chain tensioner

I also got an aftermarket frame for it

92 JP Outlaw chassis. I've got the +2 chromoly no-link swingarm and the PEP no-link shock as well as a stock 86 ATC-R swingarm but they aren't in the picture.

On the back burner. I'm just going to build/have a frame built that will take an LT engine and ATC running gear.

For now I'm building another custom LT frame.

Never had a 85/86 LT250R and didnt like the thought of them with the reeds under the cylinder, I replaced reeds more than anything. Also the swingarms on them always broke. Dont think front a-arms are the same, but not sure.

I had an 89 LT for a long time and eventually put a 86 RM250 cylinder on it. I never did anything but top ends and water pump seals and clutch plates/basket. Never broke down or let me down.

Depends on the price, if it is like $800 or less, than no way. My friend bought nearly stock one 88-90 for $850 and needed $200 in top end work .020 over, water pump seal. Very nice clean original.

Oh and a 310 kit? never heard of it. Big bore kits were not common at all for any LT.
I love when someone thinks a .060" over bore on the cylinder makes 250cc plus 60cc =310cc. Thats the biggest joke scam or ignorance in the used toy market. You should always buy based on the fact you have no way to verify or believe the seller unless they are a personal friend of sound mind.

My friend bought his from a guy he worked with and I was there when he bought it and the guy said the top end was done. I said "you have proof?". He produced papers showing stock bore piston purchase. He also said the head dome had custom swirl cut. The head gasket was leaking. When I pulled the head off, I found he was a total hack and took some sort of dremel grinding bit the the head dome and massacred it. I was pissed. And fired that crap right into the trash. Fortunately for my friend I was parting mine out so I just gave him my parts. The piston was stock size but in an egg shaped bore. So that was totally stupid cheap choice too.

You never know until you crack the motor open.

    Heinz 87: My 1987 LT250R

Trinity made a "310" Kir for the 87-92 LT's back in the day but none for the first gen.
You can't bore them to a 310 either. You've got to stroke AND have a custom sleeve installed.

They CAN be faster than a 450, but it needs a LOT of port work, a VERY good pipe, and at that point it's just a top end/dune engine that's gunna suck on the bottom end.
BUT,, he's more than likely talking out his arse. $1000 if it runs. I wouldn't trust what he claims is done to it.
