Sweeeeeeet!!! you will have the baddest 185s around. Keep us posted on how it works and if you are going to use the electric start or the kick conversion

will do, probably use the electric start, plenty of room for a battery.

just installed a lifan 250 on my 200x today. bolted right in. easy conversion. me and my buddy (redneck wheeler on the boards) put it in and we put all of the wiring in the air box and put a home made k&n filter on the carb. we intend to put the battery for the electric start in the air box also

well put the lifan 200cc in my 185s this weekend.hit a couple bumps but all is good.i am going to come back with pics all the way through with info.several people have done this but with lack of info and barely any pics.tried to search for pertinet info on the 200cc lifan here with no luck.so did all the research myself, and came through for myself.when i post the next post it will contain all the info with pics.come back later to see.if this is a project you are about to do,check and see the follow up.

ok here we go.i will post everything i did to put a 200cc liffan into a honda 185s.this was a great project, and glad i did it.first i removed a very tired 185s motor.next i purchased a 200cc liffan off e bay.cost a little over 400.00 to my door.327.00 plus ship.started redo on Saturday and wrapped up on Sunday.motor install pretty easy, just had to notch frame crossmember a 1/2 inch, and in she went.next the carb boot would not work so i used the 185s boot, perfect.wired up color for color for the most part.if not using battery or electric start just use the 5 wire harness.dont need anything off the 6 wire harness.i tucked away for future use.motor has two wiring harnesses.after that i noticed a clutch problem,[not engaging].had to take side cover off and see.guess it was last motor of the shift at the factory because the clutch actuator was not touching the lifter rod in the clutch, easy fix.hooked up everything but the chain.waiting for new front sprocket.motor come with 420 chain sprocket and i have brand new 520 chain and rear,so i was not changing those.found a company that sells liffan sprockets that have 520chain stuff.company is hooper imports, here are some pics of the rebuild.

looks real good man,nice work.

Looks pretty good. Is that a manual clutch engine?
Rob
How do these engines sound in comparison to the stock ones? I dont know about them but i have heard they are much faster, so i would think they sounds 'ballsier'???
Jim
The pushrod engines like this one are sluggish. The overhead cam ones go well.
dont know about that.she wheely's in first three gears, dont know what you heard but, wrong.

when i put motor in used the kiehn carb i had on the 185s.works great no rejet needed.plug has nice carmel appearence.also have to find a 12volt rectifier for the accessory circuit,i.e. lights and tail light.the pink wire is 12-30 volts ac.from an idle to full rev.

Well, you would love the OHC version. They wheelie in all five gears. They are much faster than the old school push rod engines.
greenhuman are you talking about the original 200x engine??
