the mudzillas will out do the bugs or the mudlites. the bugs will out do the mud lites and the mudlites dont out do much except a stock tire.
i found another tire, kenda bear claw ne one try these out?
What model bike?
185 , 200 std and 200m can be geared for the heavies.
Vamps digg. No bottom no forward motion.
GBC Gators will float and paddle.
Mudzillas will dig if you get enough wheelspin, but there really heavy.
Mudlites are a general purpose tire, same as the swamplites.
GBC Dirt Devils work surprisingly well. There a general purpose, heavier then the mudlites but work much better. Cheap aswell. Ran set on my atc200e for a season and they worked awesome.
I must be confused Mr. Goat, I thought we were discussing tires in the 25x12-9 range. If that is still the case then the mudlites only have 3/4" tread in that size, thats not quite 1 1/2" now is it??? Oh well let me assume you do know what your talking about and mudlites do come in 1 1/2" tread depth then maybe it is on their larger ones. Nope, just checked itp's site and the "big" mudlites are only 1 1/8" deep. Thats still not quite 1 1/2" that you claim so lets dig a little deeper, maybe its on the very biggest mudlite they make the 30" tall model (even though we weren't talking about 30" tires). Nope not on the 30" model either, seems it is only 1.3" deep.

I still stand by what I said about the mudlites. since we are talking about a stock size replacement tire, the mudlites that are stock replacement size will out do the stock tire usually but not much else.
I run 25x12.5x9 Kenda Bear Claws on my SX. They work awesome in mud, snow, soft terrain, even water crossings. They definately hold up to hard trail riding and abuse. The tread is aggressive, but I think they ride just fine.
I will be buying another set my other SX. What other endorsement could I give?
The pic on the right is at 3000ft. ASL. The Kendas do good on rocks too!
15T3FN1 CE/FI/SI with a Class A; Some of you might know what that means.
1986 ATC 200x, Gathering parts for a 200sx build.
1985 ATC 250SX 25" tires, extended swingarm, snorkel and other mods for Alaska adventures.
1985 ATC 250SX, Big plans for this one...
1985 ATC 250ES, Big Red
1984 ATC 125M's, 1.5 of 'em
1983 ATC 110, BLUE!
1974 ATC 70 Pink?
so its down to 2 choices * if they havent been disscontinued yet...*
GBC dirt devil 2 - 23lbs
KENDA bearclaw - 28lbs
would that extra 10lbs from the claws help in ruts since with the stock goodyears i found my self always bouncing my ass end or would the ddevils be a better over all choice.
have you considered outlaws?
I ran 22x12x10 bearclaws on a 250 yamaha. Ran em at 1psi. They were over 14 inches wide...and they slide really well when out of the mud. I always found they would keep going where others failed just because of the width. But at 22in I could spin them reved out in second...
The issue you're going to have is spinning them. They are HEAVY!
i have never seen the outlaws in my sizes and i dont believe the shop around here can order them, they couldnt even order from interco -.-. anyways hes currently looking up the bearclaws and dirt devils 2 for me i really want the dirt devils 2 they seem to have a real nice tread and weight. but bearclaws are my last resort![]()

acidburn, i cant comment on any other tire than the dirt devils. i run these on my 200x and a friend has them on his 250sx. i am really impressed with the tire for the type of terrain i ride in. we have extremely rocky terrain with alot of mud and streams, steep hill climbs, hard packed roads, and tons of snow in the winter. i've had mine for 2 seasons and there still goin strong. rarely do i get stuck and i run out of power climbing long before i lose traction. in my opinion, you wont be disapointed in the DD2's.
Might want to consider the regular Dirt Devils over the 2's if your going to be in the muddy stuff. While a little heavier and the same lug profile they have a larger void spacing and will clean better in the muck. Can't ask for much more.
