Tire review thread. Based on experience.

Post a review of the tires you are using, what you use them for, and pros and cons.

    "ITP MUDLITES"
On my 185S I have a set of 22/11/8 ITP Mudlites that are 3 years old and no signs of dry rot. They do great in mud and brush. Ride a little hard on dirt and asphalt. And tend to dig in sand. They live up to their name being light. Also pretty cheap, 45 bucks a piece at the local ATV outfitter.

The front tire is a Cheng Shin knobby. Good front tire overall.

    "DURO HF240A KNOBBY"
The ATC200 has a complete set of 25/12/9 Duro HF240A knobbies. High floatation. Do great in every terrain I've put them in so far. A little weak in loose mud but not terrible. Ride is good. Wide spaced blocks do great in sand. These were on the trike when I bought it.

The idea behind this thread was for anyone to post what tire they have, what they use it for, and how they like it.
I know someone out there besides me has an opinion.

Kenda Klaws are a good tire, the work good in just about anything, mud, snow, MX, etc. Had em on my old 250R

Maxxis Sur-Traks, good mud/snow tire, have them on my 350X and have yet to get stuck, but are TERRIBLE on the track.

Wooly-Boogers are a awsome all around tire also.

Holeshot HD's - tough as nails!! Great for rocky hard terrain and hook up very well yet still spin on a 350X. May be too much tire for anything under 250CC's though as they are double the weight of a normal Holeshot.

Holeshot XCR's - running them now on the 86 200X. Not sure if the sidewall will hold up as I haven't had enough testing time. They do hook up very well though.

Plain Holeshot - another tire I had bead sealing problems (brand new rims!!) and I popped the sidewall on both of them. Will not buy again....

Kenda Max front - seems like everyone is running them as a replacement for the stock front ATC tire. It holds up, seems fairly tough and doesn't wear too bad either.

Old stock BANDIT XC's - MAN!! what a great tire this was!! Sadly it got discontinued and they offer the AT's now which seem to have bead leaks and a very chinsey sidewall. I won't buy them again.

Turf Tamers - not for New England trails but a great all around tire.

Avoid any and all cheap tires. I spend about 65-95$ per tire and I don't get flats or have other issues.

Slime is great insurance for your beads seating well and without leaks.

I got to ride a 250ES equipped with STU Mud Machines all around. Great loose terrain tire. Not so good up front.

Had a set of wooly boogers, Duro HF243 on my old 110 before the (ahem) trail pros. The Duro tires were great in everything I put them in. The ATC90 I helping a friend work on has the Duros on all 3 rims. I'll give a more exact review on them once it's running.

Dunlop KT335's. The stock tire on Raptors and Z400's. They are a real good all around tire. They get surprisingly good traction even in sand and snow. In fact, most winters now I don't even put my snow tires on any more. I thought they would wear pretty fast, being a stock tire, but they last a long time.

I have had the wooly booger knock offs and the kenda scorpians on the back of my dx. For the type of riding I do mostly tight trails and snow I prefer the kendas. The woolys were heavy and really seemed to spin alot and get me stuck but were more stable. The scorpians are better for my riding just a little more tip over easy. I do want to try klaws next because of the flat tread for stability. On the frt I have a good yr terra tire its a 21 so it lowers the frt and its really heavy tends to keep the frt down and steers fine except in gooey mud where it packs up.

Titan Fast trekkers- 18 in on 10 in rims

PERFECT for the MX Track, thats where they feel at home.

Yet to try them in sand, mud seems to pack up in them- Soulution stay over 3rd gear and stay pinned.

I run the 18" Kenda Klaw MXRs on the back of my R and they are stable and slide nicely. I've had them on the back of my 86 200X and they kicked azz on that thing too. They seem to work good all around and I've yet to get a flat. They are magic on the track. I'm also a firm believer in the Kenda Front Max, that's a great front tire, I actually prefer it over the stock style Dunlop. For ice racing the Cheng Shin flat profile knobby is the only way to go.
Sorry, the first two pics are old. All three of my trikes are back at my shop where they are waiting for their new engines.

My favorite tires yet have to be the duro hf245. I found that they hook
great in a straight line with the big gap between treads but the flat
bars going across make it slide around turns great. Hade them on
    my 200x and m. They were 20x11x9

On my 200s i had the Cheng shin knobby's. They were
cheap and thats about it. I found they were to tall a profile for their
width and any mud or snow would build up around them and make
them as smooth as bolonga skins. They were 25x11x9

ME TO! AWESOME ALLAROUND TIRE, they work fair in sand as long as you keep the revs up starting to move after that they hook up great! you can reverse them and the center lug will act like a little mini paddle tire... but then it handles weird on hardpack

I have 4 sets of treckers and many past ones! cant beat them!

the best MX tire i found yet is the razr mx

holeshots are great but they are to soft and ware out way to fast and have tons of side bite....unlike the old holeshots.

these slide great and have thick side walls and give great forward traction.

    Wink My .o2 cents...

If your not on the track... these are about the best tires money can buy. I rode almost every weekend for the past several months and had zero issues. Traction is never a problem, and I can still get them to break loose when I'm feelin' brave.. 6ply and lightweight. Like mentioned above ITP mudlites but these are 20x11x9.
