    Road legal atc's?

In the uk? Is it possible?

    i have an atc 70 (1983-4) 110 engine fitted.

Can these things be made road legal? I've always wanted mine legal but im not sure if they are allowed.

If not does anyone know the cheapest mess about road legal bike available? just few hundred quid or so?

Also i dont know if anyone else gets this but with firefox it doesnt let me log in. only with IE can i access my account lol

    Thanks,

Hi yes it is possible i have a 200x road reg ......but i don't think you could road reg a 70 ...mine is under a farm bike but you can have a proper V5 but then you need proper road tyres, flasher lights, mirrors, horn etc......there's no way a MOT station would give you a MOT on a 70. And for a farm bike you need to own land within 25 miles of the farm and have to use it as a farm vehicle eg.tow bar ,carriers etc so don't think it's possible for a 70......

Trail 70s, SL70 and XL70s were road legal from the factory. Some people use the SL and XL frame to build a suspended ATC70. If you would do that you already would have a road legal bike then just adding 2 rear wheels to it.

I've ssen some quads here in Texas that were street legal. They had blinkers, a horn, hi and low beam headlights, and you had to wear a helemet. I am sure you would have to have proof of insurance to get tags for it.
    I've had:

    '83 ATC 110

Are you sure about the helmet? I just got home from Fort Worth on my Harley yesterday and the only state we had to wear a helmet in was passing through Missouri.

Texas just passed this law last year. A few of my friends ride motorcycles and said that they have been stopped, but not given a ticket for not wearing a helmet.

Well first of all you NEED a car driving license . anything with more than 2 wheels comes under a car......you don't have to wear a helmet on the road but i ALWAYS do.
the smallest road atc i have ever seen is 200cc ...but best thing to do is ring up the DVLA and ask ......
