It seems like there's nowhere to ride in Iowa. There's a few ATV parks, but you have to have a titled, registered ATV to do that. Which trike would I register? Anyway, looking for suggestions for riding places in central Iowa.
Have you ever be to solan, ia? It's pretty big, ran by the corps of engineers, just east of iowa city, north od 80.
Awww thats cute, your ATC has A trainning wheel!
So register one; it's only $16. They will title it when they register it.

solon is nice it is called 600 acres but you have to be registered. Its not central iowa but myself and a large group go to a private owned area it is only around 75 acres but it is fun but it is just into illinois
I got my SX registered and we went to a place called Bluff Creek. It's an old abandoned coal mine, and it offers a bunch of different kinds of riding. I went with a buddy riding his KTM 450 dirt bike. Needless to say we made an interesting pair. We started on the "perimeter trail", which the SX seemed made for. Tight, close quarters, lots of mud holes. My buddy on the dirt bike laid it down a couple times and got stuck more than a couple. However, when we went to the open trails, I mostly had a view of his dust cloud! There's two MX tracks, and those were interesting, perfect for the dirt bike, but not so much on the SX. You guys will undoubtedly chuckle at my ignorance. I'd never been on an MX track before. The jumps are designed to MAKE you catch 10-foot air without trying. on the SX, I was having to roll over them at 5mph to avoid doing so! I'd love to say that it was the machine, it's not designed for jumping, blah blah blah, but truthfully at my age and (lack of ) skill level, I don't think I would have gone much faster if I were riding a 250r!
There was one hill climb that I couldn't bring myself to try, but otherwise everything was doable on my trike. Being the only 3-wheeler, I got a few looks and comments. Even the DNR guy came over and reminisced about his dad's ATC90.
I have ridden at bluff creek, everyone also calls it Bussey because its right next to it. That pit is crazy i couldnt bring myself to go down it at the time on my 4-wheeler but my dad went up and down it on our 200x... Have you ever been down to rathbuns ohv park. Its in southern iowa about 1.5hrs south of indianola
There is lots of campgrounds surounding the lake for places to stay and the trails rap around the water also its a pretty fun park.
There is also marshalltown but i havent been to it yet ive herd its fun though
If you know of any other places to ride around central iowa let me know![]()
