    dune cycle

hello ,I had a three wheeled go kart when I was a kid growing up in alaska around big lake it had a dune cycle logo on the seat it was styled symilar to the jc penny three wheeler but with the frame dipping down about 6" off the ground at the seat,it had a rear diff in the axle.I was told people raced them around anchorage before atc's became popular .up the street from my house was another one but with full suspension (independent rear) it to looked like a factory job.I havent found anything for information on these but there were a few around alaska. anybody heard or know of these

well the latest issue of dirtwheels had a little thing on ruppsters and said that they also made a 3 wheeler called the dune cycle and I did a search on here and found a few but all old posts so it gets me excited, would love to see some and there out there just rare.the rupp site goes back to around late 60's so it makes me think there older than that....so come on people I want to see them and hear some info on them. these are old school flattrack racers

    The Dune Cycle

My Dad bought one in about 1972..Independant Rear suspension with a Modified 8 hp Briggs..Roll bar and front suspension with a front ski that would replace the front tire to play in the snow..
In about 1980 I put a Maico 400 engine in it...Bad idea..I couldn't keep it on the ground.
I still have it in storage, just waiting what to do with it next
    Asphalt is for getting there......

I just finished rebuilding one. Mine is the 5 hp model i got in bad shape pretty much just the frame and rear end. I did an overhaul on her and i think tured out good, not stock because i put a differant seat on but i like it.

They were made by allied pacific engineering in the 70's and i gues there was a pretty big following racing them back then from the info i have gathered.
