    cr125 motor in 200x

Ive heard talk about this topic before but I have never seen it done. Has anyone done this? How difficult is this kind of project? I have an old cr125 motor sitting in my basement and i have no use for it. Maybe i'll give this project a shot and see how it works out. I just need to find a 200x rolling frame first though.

    Ideas? Comments?............

I have a thread on mad scientist lair where I'm building a ATC125r project out of an 85 200x with a 79 cr125r aircooled motor but I've been working on other projects lately and have not had time to finish it up.

I'm doing a similar project, but using a PE175cc two stroke.

It's a tight fit in there, but seeing as a 125 is smaller, I don't see it being too difficult. Couple things that you might run into would be rear brake lever since the 200X lever attaches to the engine, rear kick, utilizing the stock airbox (if you wanted to), and a few other little things that I'm forgetting. Overall, mine hasn't been to difficult so far, so I think a 125 would be fairly easy.

Yeah, I just looked at a picture of a 200x frame and it doesnt look too hard. On top of those issues that have already been brought up...I need to also figure out radiator placement, etc....my cr125 engine is a 87'....liquid cooled.

We'll see what happens. I have my hands full with my tri-z right now but the thought of a little atc 125R is soooo very tempting though!

    I wonder how a 200x with a liquid cooled and powervalved cr125 motor will stack up against a 85' or 86' R......

I've never seen one in person, but from looking at a few different pictures, it looks like it mounts through the frame.

I think there's one or two pics floating around.. The expansion chamber hitting the frame would probably be the biggest obstacle.

I dont have the frame though. I have the engine, carb, and some linkage.

Anyone have a fully suspended trike frame they are selling cheap. Dont care what kind it is really....250R, 200X, 350X, etc.

Theres an airfooled 250r for sale in N Brookfield right now too. Its an 83' and the engine needs a full re-build but other than that, the rest of the trike is excellent. I may just have to pick it up!
