    Honda Pilot 2 Seater Prototype

A fellow Pilot buddy of mine in SoCal recently met a guy from US Honda R&D and low and behold he had a prototype Honda 2 seater buggy copy, its powered with a 1000cc Honda power plant and used many OEM Honda Pilot parts , pity these things didnt see it to the production line back in the early 90's apprently they would have had a retail price of $9000US,this was a major factor in canning the project.

They should start making them now. The two seater market is hot at the moment and I bet a lot of people would go for something like that over a rhino.

Is it powered by a CBR motor or something? I think a 1000cc shifter minirail like that would be the coolest thing on the block!

9,000 isn't that expensive when a new Rhino costs like... 11,000?

I think he meant $9,000 back in the day. Were these meant to superseed the fl 400? The 89-90 'i think'. The FL400 was way ahead of its time imo, but again, it was the cost at the time that was rumored to kill it off. They still look like a current machine to me. Awesome!

Well shoot. I'd buy a $13,000 Honda "SuperPilot" 1000cc minirail instead of a $11,000 Rhino anyday.

Wow, that thing looks fast. I would love to see the first year Pilot sitting next to that one.

I love the look of it and if you look closely at the side panels and fenders they are a natural progression from the 89/90 Pilot parts,IMHO blows a Rhino out of the water.

Do doubt. but keep in mind the Rhino was intended to be a trail or work machine. This Honda is biult for speed.

I personally think the rhino is a joke... for that amount of money...a work machine?? You can maybe fit two pumpkins in that dump body....I do much better hooking a trailer up to my Kawie Prairie for my work and hauling stone around my property...that two seater pilot would still sell well IMO!!!!
Wikipedia "All Terrain Vehicle" Definition excerpt
Other smaller or lesser known companies, such as Tiger ATV, Franks, and Cagiva, produced racing three wheelers, but in much smaller numbers. Few of these machines are known to exist today and are highly sought by collectors.
