    Options for a 185S exhaust

What aftermarket options are out there for an exhaust for a 185S????

The 185S has a fully suspended frame. Has anyone run a 200X exhaust on a 185S?

    DG? ... Cobra? ...

    And who has them????

Lots of pipes are out there is just a matter of finding them.

    Cobra
    Old DG
    Bassani
    Supertrapp
    Kerker
    Jardine
    and probably more

Ebay has them all from time to time

dennis kirk has DG and Cobra exhausts on their website for a 185S. I think they also have a Jardine Stalker exhaust on there for it.
    my garage:
    86 200x
    79 110
    81 110
    83 185

looking for a 350x. would trade the 200x and/or 110's for one plus some cash if needed. PM me if you got one.

Here's a pic of my suspension 185s with a supertrapp. Definitely worth searching for, and it's for a 200x. A stock 185s exhaust won't work.

Cobra is junk, don't waste your money. DG is decent, but you can find better. Dennis Kirk used to offer White Bros. E-Series universal mufflers, you just ordered what headpipe outside diameter you had, and then made your own mounts. I would try to find something like that, either a universal E-Series, or a universal SuperTrapp.

I like cobra pipes. They may not be the highest quality ones but they make pipes for old machines that nobody else does. I'd put a cobra on any of my machines.

I've heard too many super-loud, annoying machines with Cobras to even consider using them. They're cheaply made, too. I've had a Cobra blow the core out on a trail ride, and so has Super90, I believe. If you're serious about your machine, you'll take the time to get a decent exhaust, or make one yourself.

Yes your right AK. Ive had alot of problems with my cobras in the past. The core blew out numerous times making it a VERY VERY loud cone, thats from it being held in by only 1 bolt. Also the mount snapped clear off hitting a tiny jump in a field not even getting 1' off the ground. And another thing is the paint burns off the first time the exhaust gets even moderately hot. Right now I have the cobra head pipe and procircuit t4 shorty on it. I like it alot more than my cobra, also looks pretty good.

But I will say atleast cobra still makes exhausts for old machines unlike others. If they stepped up their quality to normal core and shaped exhausts, also use some better steel. I think they would have a half decent company.

Oh yeah I also forgot about the packing, It usually comes out very fast due to the huge core vents inside, only thing that was left was a piece jammed near the end cap.

I believe it will bolt right onto your suspension frame, because all the "auto-x" projects seem to use a 200X exhaust, and a 185 motor will bolt into a 200X chassis.
