Has any one ever seen this prototype trike from 1972?

I was looking for a unique trike from 1972 to go with my72 Dodge restoration. I found this web page. The trike is about half way down. It kind of looks like a Maico or what ever it was called. Anyhoo, what do you all think it is?

It is a one of a kind 1972 Dodge D200. I wanted a three wheeler from the same year to sit in the bed for car shows.

I will wait until tomorrow and see if anyone else knows what it is. I will tell you that it is from a minibike manufacturer and was made in Dearborn MI. That's a 10hp Chrysler 2 stroke on it.

I have always liked that style of trike. I realy like T555's. I may end up using something like that because they are cheaper nd easier to get than an ATC 90. But right now, I want to see what all was out there in 72.

I have never seen a for wheeled Rupp before. That is cool. Did they make them in 72?

I searched for the Chrysler engine and found out they came on Rokons. That may be a tough item to find.

The four wheeled one was on ebay in 02 and brought 2951.00 here's the description

"You are bidding on a 1970 Rupp Ruppster ATV mini dune buggy. This is a very rare classic ATV. It is all original and runs excellent. It has a JLO 230 cc motor with snowmobile torque converter to a car-type rear-end (no chains to adjust or oil). The motor was recently rebuilt by a local Honda dealership. This vehicle is capable of 40+ miles per hour. The body is the original ABS plastic; never painted and has all the stickers and emblems. Tires are new. It is a side-by-side two seater. This bid includes a second Ruppster that can be used for parts or is complete enough to be restored. E-mail seller for pictures of second Ruppster. It also includes owners, parts and repair manuals. It is currently registered in New York State as an ATV. This vehicle is a must for any Rupp or ATV or dune buggy enthusiast!! Reason for selling: need space for new project."

They are around 4 feet wide, i'm not sure if it'd fit in the truck bed or not, i would bet that it would be a tight squeeze if it fits between the wheel wells...

Either way, that thing would be great to have in any collection. Next time I head to Tampa I will have to meet up with you so I can see it in person.

Actually its located in central Pa, which is where i'm from and plan to be moving back to in a couple months.

Thanks to your post and a couple minutes searching i realized how much its worth and was just on the phone with my father and we're going to restore one of them the best we can this winter, and the other may become a project because we dont have a motor for it but the body, chassis, and steering is there. These things were primative and relied on good-year knobbies for suspension. It has a rigid chassis that was commonly cracked in the front where the spindles mounted. I'll be sure to post some pics and updates on here once i get back home and we can play with it.

Not to be too long winded but my father said it was parked because he had a kid (me) he and his brothers put a rockwell 230cc 2-stroke on it because they said the JLO wasn't a good motor, and running with a honda motorcycle at WOT on a road the honda's speedo read 70mph. There's really nothing to them and with the clutch (like a sled) wound out it would basically just keep going faster and faster...

All the cool stuff in up north. Well, it was still cool to at least read a little about it. I never even knew they existed. My hunt continues for a 72 ATV.
