Theres a performance cam for a 185s in my james lucky catalog.(www.jlatvproducts.com) Cobra might make a pipe for one and you can get a larger carb for it. You can get a UNI or K@N air filter also.

The 185s, 200s, and 200x heads and cylinders are all interchangeable. The rocker box sealing surface is different on the 185, so if you use a 185 head then you have to use a 185 rocker box. The rocker boxes should interchange between all the 200cc models. I'm currently running a 200s cylinder, 185s head/rocker, and 200x cam on a 200x bottom end. As for the extra oomph with a 200x head, it would depend on which 185 head you currently have. Some of the 185s heads (don't recall which years) have the same diameter valves as the 200x. If you have the large valve head, then changing it would be pointless. But throwing a 200x, xr200, or xr200r cam in it would definitely make a difference. If you go with the xr200r cam, you'll have to use shorter valve guides to make room for the extra lift.
I have a Bissanni header on my 83 185s, and jetted the carb up to a .095 main. Thinking about changing to a stock 200x carb (.110 main), changing to an xr200 cam, and punching the cylinder out to 200cc and dropping in a 10.25:1 piston. It'll be a pain in the butt to start (compression relief doesn't work), but it should run like crazy!!!! Now, if I could only figure out how to work in a 6th gear, LOL!!!!!
Whatever you decide to do, good luck with your project and "Happy Riding".
