hey guys,
i was wondering id anyone what year honda changed the down shifting pattern to the standard upshifting pattern? i found a 1986 ATC200s motor but i dont know how the shifting pattern is.
cany anyone sell me? i dont know where to find this information out. i am wanting to build a Auto 200X and i really like shifting the normal way.
i just need to know from what year the 185/185s and 200/200s motors shift down and what year shift upwards.

im pretty sure its the 82 and 83 shifts up. i have a 84 and it shifts down.
down to parts because i no longer have a place to ride trikes.

86 trx 250r --- with after market chromoly frame and everything else done to it
01 400ex --- with 86 trx 250r motor
87 250x + 93 300ex both 350x powered
2 = 86 atc 350x's

83 atc 185s --- from retired guy not ridden since 87
Bandito framed 110 with 85 motor and yellow us90 fenders + tank

guess now i have to weight my options very hard, i am sure its easier to find the early year atc motors then later year ones.

that 85 200s at Larry's for $300 is one that shifts up. buy that and the chassis from me and you'll be set. if i keep what left of the 200s i'll drop the price of the 200x chassis.

Are you looking for a rebuildable engine or one to drop in and go? I have a friend with a spair upshifting 200s engine that ran 3? years ago when we pulled it but is smokes a lot. Drop me a pm if you are interested in it and I will check with him.
