Why not buy one? It can't cost that much. Plus you could track down your old bike?

Any idea what your vin #s might have been? You mentioned the one for the Baja races was #6. You might be able to track them down that way. I don't know for sure, but theres a guy here on the forum, TRIZTUNES that is suppose to have an actual Factory Yamaha Tri-Z. Maybe its one of your old ones?
Brett, so your saying there was a 200Z mutch like the 200r, And how did your race bikes differ between the 250,200 and open class?
And on a more presonal note:
How long did you race?
what did you do when the whole trike era ended?
do you still do or hang around some kind of motorsport?
what do you do for a liveing now?
when was the last time you were on a trike?
would you ever get back on one?
Welcome to the forums! It is so refreshing to see someone give the TriZ the respect it so rightly deserves. Magazine shootouts are for armchair racers! Ive been running mine for the 17th year coming up. I do agree the Tecate and 250R are better handling, (which does not make the Z poor handling) but that Yamaha powerplant has always been far preferable to me. Its funny you mention that on certain tracks, its in its element. I have noticed the Hondas kill me on supercross style tracks, but when you get on the oldschool 70's style MX tracks The Z holds its own quite well.
Where do you reside you? Vintage 3 wheeled MX is alive and well in Ohio thanks to a handful of die hards.
He's a CALI BOY TimSr. Like all of the racers. Its really good to have another racer on the boards. So many great stories and many good idea's come from you guys. Do you live anywhere near Lake Elsinore or Adelanto? I could hook you up with a yamaha Tri-Z(but will cost ya 600 bones sorry lol). I want to race a few MX tracks and see what happens. Hopefully I can go and race Adelanto or try for an Elsinore Flattrack sometime in the future. I hear Elsinore might be closing due to housing . So much history at that track, would be a shame to see it go up in smoke. All we need on this board now is Jimmy white and a Factory Tiger rider and we're set!
Rest in peace Rex Carlson
Did marty hart show up here? I know hes involved in rock climbing, Jimmy white last I seen was working for kenda tires. What do you do for a living now Bret? Did yamaha ever consider making a 87 Tri z?

I live in El Centro CA. 1 hour from wake boarding{Yuma AZ}. 2hrs from snow boarding(big bear). 2hrs from San Diego. and 10 minuts from Superstition desert. Lifes been good!!! I own a surf, skate, silkscreen&embriodery store. its called DRISCOLL"S .... Ive been working here since 79. I worked full time while racing, with tons of help from my family.
Im still into anything with a motor. mostly MX. some rhino's . the last 10 years , casual racing in the local DEZ, el cajon, elsinore, paris CA.,
billy im sure this great guy doesnt deserve the title as arm chair racer how about something more fitting
Wow even after all these years he still has the balls to go fast.
What was you favorite event in all your years of racing?
How cool would it be to have you Jimmy And Hart attend trike fest and go head to head to head for the first time in 20 years.

the threewheelers died from the combination of the release of the Quad and the crack down of the government. it was a battle that the industry didnt want to fight. after my racing trips in holland EUR. ,yamaha attacked honda with the banshee Quad . and thats where the $ was , so thats the direction we went. most 3w riders were now quad guys....
