I really like those, I almost bought my friends 79 for cheap, I really regret not picking it up. It may have been an oldie, but was a blast to tool around on.
That thing will be awesome as a trike! Good luck with your build

is there any way to make a trike steering stem longer for it ? my 225 stem was like 6 in or something like that.

There was a company that made conversion kits that turned street bikes into trikes, there name was "tricky dicks". There were other companies that made frames that would take street bike engines.
I think if you were to do turn the bike into a trike, you would be better off using the neck shaft and have triple trees custom made and even use the front forks from the street bike. The 750 is heavier than a 350x and the spring rates for the 350x forks would not be enough for the 750. Most aftermarket conversions that used the stock frame also used both the stock shocks. If it was a frame that was meant for the street bike engine, then a monoshock or originally no shock at all for the rear, they made hardtail frames that fit cb750 engines! You would almost have to use a car shock for the rear because of the weight of the 750 being almost double if not more than a 350x, unless you looked into a shock like you would find on a modern 4 wheeler. I'm not sure if the big 700 quads even use a single shock. The trike would be heavy enough that it would be hard to think of it having any kind of long travel suspension.
I personally have a frame that was made for an rd350\rd400 yamaha. It is a monoshock frame. The same frame with different engine mounts was also used to hold the kawasaki 3 cylinder 2-stroke H3 750! If your using most of the stock frame for the 750, your limitation is weight. If you were to engineer a different frame, you would be better off and trying to cram an engine of that size into a 350x would be just a little crazy. Good luck with however you decide to go. Hope this helped.
do you think keeping the 2 rear shocks and monuting them on the outside of the 350x swinger would work? im not looking for something to be jumping and stuff like that just drag racing and riding around.

Maybe a streetbike mono shock would work with the swinger. You would have to fashion a mount under the bike to recieve the shock, though I think this would be easier then mounting the two stock shocks to the 350x swinger.

im not trying to put this project down, im sure its possible to turn into a trike... but i want you to consider the fact that something this heavy would not be very useful except maybe to go in a straight line or mudding in. if you do this, please be careful on that thing.... id hate to see you try to take some fast turns on that beast! ... and if you really just want to turn a street bike into a trike, just get a differnt street bike that well, just isnt so heavy! ok, wish you luck though either way.
go for it man, that would be awsome, i got a yamaha 750 that i got running good that i wanna kinda do the same thing i just gotta find time, but go for it man, you only live once
im just gonna give er hell when i take er out on the trails.throw some big ass tires on the back see how it does in the mud. i just realized i need a rear brake setup and some 350x hubs.

If you stick to the stock shocks, I think it might be better to weld some brakets to the swinger. Thats a lot of weight, you dont want to go compromising the integrety of it.
Do you guys think that the brake setup and hubs from an X will handle that kind of weight?

thats what i was thinking to so the swinger does not break. i would probably also have it beefed up a little bit. prolly weld plates of steel around the swinger?
the brackets i could prolly cut the brackets off of the stock 750 swinger
