    Question Is my cylinder junk?

    I Have a very nice running 88 TRX 250R jug that I purchased, which needed a re-sleeve. They sleeved it over the original sleeve at, I believe 68 mm for a 265.
    I had plans on having it sleeved for a 295 at 72 mm.

    I removed the over-sleeve, which just fell apart once I got an edge. This left the overbored original sleeve. I used my Dremel to score it almost to the cylinder casting.
    I then got a grip on the bottom, and carefully twisted so the sleeve split. This caused it to loosen up in the bore, and I was able to pull it out.

    Upon removing it, I noticed that the casting barrels out in the center about .100" to .130". I also noted that this larger diameter of the cylinder casting is a touch over 72 mm.

    Is this cylinder still going to be useable with a 72 mm sleeve inserted, or did I just turn it into scrap? I am assuming they will have to bore it to at least 76 mm for the sleeve. Is that a wrong assumption?

    If it is still useable, who does quality 295's for reasonable? I was looking at possibly using Kustom Kraft. Also, would it be wise to O-ring it, or are the big-bore head gaskets pretty good now?

    I think that L.A. sleeve does the 295 thing. I uses to have one. It was pretty good and you didnt need to o-ring it.....i think

    I did talk to Kustom Kraft (And L.A. Sleeve said the same thing, as they both use the same sleeves), and it'll be just fine for a 295 sleeve. They bore past the original sleeve into the casting. He said that the head gaskets are fine, but I still wonder if I should O-ring it instead. What do you all think?

    o ring it if you want
    do they make a gasket to fit it? or is it a under sized gasket
    hell you could make one from a sheet of copper even if you wanted
    kustom kraft can even make you a sleeve from a blank sleeve!!!
    might be a lil more but its worth it
    mabe you can put a true 300 in it or a 301????
    every mill in bore =8cc's
    every mill in stroke=4cc's
    73
    x
    72 =301cc's this is a 8mm over bore from a 66mill stock

    72
    x
    73 = 297 cc's 1-mill in stroke/ 6mill in bore

    72x72= a 293 -(considered a 300) - does anyone make a 72.5 mill piston for it ??
