1982 250R value

I have a coworker that just bought a 82 R and it needs a rebuild in a bad way. He plans on selling it once the rebuild is done what should he be asking for it? Its complete but does need plastic. How much should he ask for it? And would any of you be interested in it? Oh BTW he said Honda or a comany Honda sells parts for was selling 300 kits for $125 and it was everything from the gaskets to the jug and head and even a jet. When he showed up there was 3 once they got to the buy they were gone. Kinda crappy for he missed out on them. N/Eways what do you all think?

I just paid $500 for an 81 250R. I think I got a hell of a deal but mine is in pretty good condition. I think mine is worth at least $800. And that is to bad about the 300 kits, I would have bought one to.
