    yfm 100 moto4 where's the vin number??

i have a yfm100 moto4 champ, and i can't find the vin number. i've looked all over the frame and can't find it. i need to get a stator for it and for some reason the 87 is different than the later years and i want to make sure what year i have.

so someone tell me where the vin is

It's right on the motor, on the right side crank case half. Also, there is on on the steering stem.

No on the neck that the shaft go's through, or the lower part of the front down tube....if its not there your bike is more than likely hot....

Yea, it should be, Im trying to remember now, the one on the motor is the easiest to find though. If my trike was at my house Id take a pic for ya. This is the best pic I've got, its behind that brake cable

Right by the crank breather hose.

BTW, thats a really old pic, it doesnt look like that any more

yup, i got the one on the engine, that was easy, but its the frame vin, i'm looking for. i don't think you can tell what year it is by the engine number??? by the way a yfm100 is a quad, not a trike!

It may be stamped at the back of the frame by the hitch or around there somewhere, just go over the whole frame...you will find it haha but i think it should be near the front under the/tank frame there somewhere, may take some diassembling to get at.

Post the VIN off the engine, you can definatly find the year with it...
    YFM200N - 52H-000101 - on
    YFM200DXS - 1NU-000101 - on

Oh, on a quad, I have no idea where the frame # is....

yup its a yfm100 moto 4 champ shaft. its alittle bigger than a yfm80.

i went all over the frame, well most of it. pull off the tank, front fender, foot pegs, still can't find it. the paint looks like its stock, so i don't think its been painted over. its puzzleing me, i thoght every atv, trike dirt bike had to come with a vin number on the frame? and in an obvious place so its easy to see.

i'll post the vin on the engine tomorrow.

Look on the motor left side about a inch or so behind the starter. You will find the motor serial number there. Oh Heck, Here is a picture or 2 of it's location.

If my serial number is close to yours, then I should have parts if you need them.

heres the engine serial number 2-X-006714

i need a new stator, its a pain to start. i tested the stator coils and the ignition coil is below the specs. and i figured i would just buy a brand new one so everything would be new.

Look at your serial number again. Could it possibly be 2HX-006714 ? If this is correct then you have a 1987 model. I have the microfiche for this machine on my computer. If you need it let me know.

Edted: Also, I do not blame you for wanting to go with New. I may end up fixing this one in the future.

it could be an H, with the way the lines in the case run, i'll have to check again. but for you to have every other number in the correct place it must be an 87.
    thanks
