I was just wondering how fast the fastest trike was. A highly modified engine is ok, but no aftermarket engines or engines from other machines that have been put into trikes.

Tecate was the fastest stalk PRODUCTION trike. The tiger 500 was the fatsest, but since each was made for individual person who ordered it, they don't classify as production. I would guess a ATC500R tuned right would be the fastest custom job, aside from insane thing that some people make!
Well, you could make a trike to go 250 mph if you wanted too, just change the gearing and put huge tires.... it would take forever to top out but it would be fast once you got there.

Tiger 500 was radar verified at 81 mph with very fast accel. Tecate-3 was probably upper 70s.

I'm not sure I'd want to go over 85 mph on a 3-wheeler. I'd take short-gear acceleration over top speed any day of the week. Much more fun and a lot more practical.
