    Douglas 10" 250R wheel question

Who has one of these 10" front wheels and how did you get it? I called and they said no way, they won't make it. The biggest pattern on a 10" wheel they would do is a 4/166 and to get a 4/170 you'd need an 11". Is this BS or have some of you actually got one?

Try contacting 86waterpumper, and I think Jared too are both the ones that were telling me about it.

Here is a 10" rim I got from a board member. I'm wondering if it will clear the front caliper.

Oldschool, I have already started to do that. I want a 10" wheel on my drag racer. What I have found out is you have to take the front brakes off, (mine already are off). I had my buddy turn the 250-r hub down to fit inside a banshee front wheel, now I just have to drill the trike bolt pattern. My 250-r front wheel is evenly spaced in the center. I'm gunna get a 7" wheel instead of the origional width witch I think is 8". Then I can run any front tire I want. I bet with your talent you could figure out a way to make the front brakes work also. If you think about it, all you would have to do is move the calipar towards the the center of the wheel & cut the rotor down a little smaller. I am interested if someone has a better way to get it done, until then I can make it work without front brakes.

Chainsaw, I put in an email last night to them and if I don't hear anything to day I'll give them a call. Thanks!

Mr. Hall, I got in contact with an old friend that has this setup today. He's running the stock front brake system yet but he says it's damn close. He too had to turn down his hub some to fit in the bell. He says the perfect wheel for the job is a 6" wide 3+3 offset douglas. He thinks his came from douglas with the 4/170 pattern. I'll have to call them and talk to someone else to see what's up here.

    thanks

How about a group buy on this front wheel? I know Brandon and I want 3 of them. I definately want a 7" wheel, though.

I figured on shaving the axle down some to make it fit, as all the others i've seen we're done this way.

Could we just get a centered 10" wheel with no holes?

I was wondering the same thing about the blanks Derrick because my machinist would nock out some perfect holes for next to nothing. Sad news though, they said they will not sell undrilled wheels. Also I'm just guessing here but I think you'd have to ditch your front brake if you went with a 7" wide 10" wheel.

The front wheel just clears the caliper. Douglas DOES still make them. Frank, you must have talked to someone new or someone who really doesnt know what they are talking about. Whenever I call, I always talk to the girl. She tells me everything exactly about the wheel, the price, dimensions, etc. The total comes to about $85, thats with the price of the wheel, custom wheel charge, and shipping.

The last time I called was like last month, so when I saw this I thought maybe they stopped. Well I called earlier today, and got the exact same story as before. around $85 total.
Give me no lip and I tell you no lie.

My rim in the pic above does not fit up to a 350x front hub, I measured from one hole to the hole next to it and its about 5 1/2 inches, a 350x measured about 4 3/4, is a 200x or 250r front hub different? Wonder what it could be for? Z, T3?

Wow 85 big ones for 1 wheel . I think I can deal with 2-sets of holes in my banshee wheel . Either that or I will weld the unused holes up. I'm out boys, I think I can find a way to make 2-banshee wheels fit My 2-R's for less than 85 bucks. Thanks for the Info, I will keep you informed on what I wind up doing. If theres a will theres a way. No matter what wheel you get, If its a 10'' wheel the calipar is still gunna be close. The only thing I can think of that the custom wheel could have different is a slight bit more offset to the opposite side of the brake calipar. The cure for that is to offset the hub on the axle, I think thats what Derrick was talking about ( shaving the axle).

I'm on 2 times now with people saying no way.

This lady I talked to was suposed to be the one to talk to for custom orders and the price I got was over $100 for a custom front. Do you have a name of the lady that you talked to? I'd seriously like to get a hold of her. Please help, I keep getting fools there.

I bought a 11 inch front rim from Douglas about 6 months ago, and it costed me around 95 bucks if I remember right.
