How to Find Out Model of Trike w/ serial #

I just got ahold of a 1985 Yamaha Tri-Moto 3 wheeler. The guy put a Honda 200 motor on it. It is FAST as HELL!!!!!. I have a 1985 tri moto 200 chain and it is much smaller. It has no suspension and is very narrow? The rear end has a disc brake? and the serial number on neck is JY321Y009F0070143. From what I can read on the sticker, 1985 YAM21Y0123. Anyone have a clue what model this frame is? Also, I have a honda 200s, the shifting pattern is 5 up. This honda motor on this machine the pattern is 5 down? This machine has a custom exhaust from a Kawasaki 125 dirt bike on it! I realize that the weight ratio between this custom machine is different than my honda, But this custom machine is Really, Really, Really FAST! Just curious if anyone has any insight on what the hell I bought!!!

The neck # is a honda VIN. The sticker # sounds like Yamaha to me, where is this sticker located on the trike?
Is this engine 2 or 4 stroke?
Did you mean the mystery trike has no rear suspension or were you meaning the Yamaha?
All 200s's are a 5 down pattern. Maybe you have an XR or XL engine in yours, is it an auto clutch or manual?
Post some pics, they are worth at least a thousand words.
Also, with the Kawi pipe on there you can say you are a "Proud owner of the big three" all on one trike. (just joking)
    A whole bunch of trikes.

Nope... vin number is Yamaha 84+ year.... 21V is a 200 chain I believe.... I just took my 225DX over to get it tuned up nice to trade it for that US90, and I took my repair manuals over with it. There's a page in the Clymer manual that lists the different Vin codes and the years off the serial number. Unfortunately, it's not here or I'd look it up for you. Last spring I did type them up on the board for someone... you might be able to find the thread that I typed them in....

    this may help 1980=A

"The year code in the Vehicle Identification Number is the 10th position. The key for this 10th digit is given in the chart below. Note that starting with model year 2001 vehicles, the 10th position “year code” will be a number instead of a letter. The year code can be the calendar year in which a vehicle is built, or a model or type year allocated by the manufacturer."

I stand corrected, initially I thought it was a Honda VIN because 4 of my trikes (maybe more) all have 17 digits & start JH3 which is similar to his. I thought all my Yamahas only had 9 digits, but on closer inspection the 84's have 9 digits & the 86's have 17. Never checked my 85's, too lazy to go drag them out of the shed.
    A whole bunch of trikes.
