    300ex in a 200x?

anyone ever consider this? I got to looking at my daughters 300ex next to my 200 and it looks as though it would ALMOST bolt right in...hmmmmm electric start? reverse? hmmmm I picked up a rolling chassis 200x from LaDano and was thinking of putting my 200 in it, now Im wondering what sorta bribe it will take to get my kid to turn loose her 300ex BTW, for you fellas looking for rear brake calipers for a 200x, I did some side by side comparisons an it looks as though a 300ex rear caliper will fit the bracket if you enlarge the mounting holes approx 1/8 on each hole....I will get some more info on parts interchange when I go together with mine. Dave

BTW, are there any other axles that would fit an 84 swinger?

that would be an awesome idea. i have thought about putting an 05 400ex engine in a 350x roller. that would be cool too. but thats a project for when i get some $$$ lol

well lets see, they are both clutch type engines, so its already steup for that, both use 520 chains, I know the 300 does anyhow, so thats not a problem,
The starter is located right below the carb on the 300 so its not really in the way either. it mounts on the front like the 200, and the top also. I will look into it some more soon. The cool parts is that there are plenty of upgrade/ hop up parts for the 300!

Well.. That would be a sweet trike.. Maybe take the engine out of the 300 and just plop it in to see what would need to be modified. Im sure there are some 300EX engines on ebay.

It's the exact same thing as asking if a 350x motor will fit in a 200x frame. 250x-300ex-350x motors are all about the same size. Hurdle #1 would be how the swinger would play with the motor and frame, that's a biggie. After you see how your going to line up the drive sproket with the rear you'd be looking at making mounts and a custon exhaust. this is a fairly easy swap in a 350x frame but you might have some work to do in a 200x frame.

I've seen a pic of a 300x, so it is definately possible, I cant think of any reasons why the swap wouldnt be a great idea.

Its any easy drop putting a 300EX into a 350X chassis. Putting it into a 200x is whole different story. Good luck with that and let us know how it goes.

as for the axle, you can use an 82 250R axle in the early 200Xs, but you have to use the 250R sprocket hub and sprocket. you also have to flip the axle around since the drive side is opposite on those machines.
