I don't have the answer but interesting topic. Do they have any type of rev limit built into the ignition? There are lots of bikes that the revs are controlled by the CDI. That would tell you the RPM limit right there. I'm not sure a TRI-Z has that though. One the ones that do lots of times you can buy an aftermarket CDI that increases rev limit and advances the ignition curve.

probably at least, the 350x tach has 8250 as a redline.
i dont think any of the trikes have rev limiters, at least any of the ones i have ridden.

i havent had exsperience with the z's or the r's, but our small yamaha 2 stroke bike 80cc revs to 15,000rpm without pushing it too hard, and my goped revs to 17,500 rpm, so i think these would be around 10-12,000rpm correct me if im wrong

Both the Tri-Z and 250r(liquid) can turn anywhere from 9,500-11,000 depending on what was done to them. Most completely fall off of power by 10,000.

the reason i asked this was cause i have a "tiny tach" i picked up for 5 bucks. its a small digital tach and hour meter, it only goes to 9995 rpms though. im gonna give it a try, see how i like it, its only one wire and no permanent modifications. well see!

the tors is throttle override system, which shuts the motor down if the throttle remains stuck open, like a tps, and your expansion chamber determines your peak rpm.. i bet my zilla red lines at 6,000 rpm

That chart shows peak RPM to be between 9-10. Peak HP on that was between 8-9.

The Tiger 200/250 that I had, 13000+ and would keep going until it exploded. That was the story from the original owner who had raced, blown it up, rebuilt and blown it up more than a few times. As for the other normal 2 strokes...like most others said....9-11 range. Porting, Pipe and also carb size all make the difference.

Yamaha's (YZ motors) will rev higher then Hondas. My dyno guy says a typical Tri Z or YZ motor will peak at 11,000-12,500 and a honda will peak at 9,000-9,500. He used to race mini sprints and used yamaha's only because he could rap them so much tighter and they would hold together longer even with the high rpms.
