    What year are you getting?
Didn't they get progressively better in the later models?

The shop across the street from me says they're "Beasts in the woods...." due to their torque, horsepower and weight.

    I'd LOVE to have one.
You're a lucky man but selling your R has to be a tough pill to swallow to get the 'Zilla.

thanks man! i havent had any of them on a dyno, the cylinder on the zilla now is bone stock, the ported one that came on the bike is being repaired. it cracked from to much material removed from the transfer ports, any one who has a 87 will have this problem if ported like mine was. the 88-90 has thicker walls, this is one reason the 87 motor has more power than the later years the other is the huge intake reed cage area, 8 petal vs. 6 for the later years

    problems with mine.....
1 was hard to start until i got the hang of starting, broke my foot twice since christmas! 140lbs of compression..but think of the piston volume, not the compression itself
2 ive blown a few base and headgaskets... nuts come loose all the time, you have to locktite EVERYTHING on the zilla, lots of vibs!and saftey wire nuts too if possible
3 very wide stock 49 inches by 78 long .. rubs trees all the time !!
4 massive torque wears sprockets fast

yes, but it is very hard to start it, look at how big the piston is , i can stand up on the kicker and its like the motor is locked up, it goes down very slow

Man I would love to have another zilla! They were one sweet ride. They werent the most reliable though. Blew it up 3 times in 2 years. Thankfully, nothing grenaded. I wouldnt mind having another one to have for a dirtroad rider or somthing of that sort :-p
