ATTN NY riders: Rocky Roost on 8-1

I just wanted to mention that I'm going to Rocky Roost with my brother and neighbors on July 31 if anyone is interested in doing some riding.

    Rocky Roost

Yea I just saw a letter in the September Dirt wheels mag about it. Motocross track and Trails for all skillz, sound great. Its between Watkins Glen and Corning in Monterey N.Y.. I'm going down to Corning for a Flameworking class, I think I might stop by on the way down just to take a look. Any riding area in New York is welcome seeing how they rob us of our registration money and dont give us any trails.

Too cool being in a magazine and all.
Now if a "star rider" or two would only grace my woods!

One guy (no one from this forum) busted his quad up pretty bad and scared us all. This dude was going WFO, slammed into a jump and flipped violently, His predator landed on him and knocked him out cold.

When all got said and done this unfortunate incident caused at least 500-1000 dollars worth of damage to his quad, His face is all swelled up, and his whole riding day was spent sitting in his truck. he ran 1/10th of a lap!

A "parade lap" or 2 around the track upon arrival would have prevented all this drama. PLEASE whenever you are riding somewhere new, (Here or elsewhere) take it easy for at least the first lap or two. Know the terrain before you "open up" The life you save may be your own.

You beat me to the post! Anyone who is thinking about taking a trip to Rocky Roost should do so, the woods riding is fun and the track is a blast! I'll be going again, hopefully some people from the board will come and join. Check out the post above for pics, there is a nice one of me catching some air on the table top.
