    350X Carb on 250SX

Just a quick tip to you 1985 Honda 250Ss. As most of you know the stock 250SX carb had it's problems. I have owned several 250SX trikes and changed the carb to a 350X carb. It is an easy changeover and eliminates the hard starting plus gives tons of extra power. Not sure what the jet difference is but you will no doubt feel the response. The choke cable changes right over as well so you can still choke it from the switch on the handle bars.

    Hi
Does the 350X carb fit right up? Does it give a lot more acceleration?

    Thanks

Yes the carbs fit up nicely the problem I was having with my 350x carb on the SX is all the jets. You have to change the Jets all out to work correctly. The other problem I had was I wanted to use the "flip up" choke part. But the tank and frame gets in your way to fully use it. So you have to put the cable choke back on the 350x carb.

would this also be true of the 250ES (Big Red)?? Can I put a stock 350X carb on my Big Red?? No alterations?? Choke and throttle cable all retrofit??? Is this true?? If so, it will make my life better and my day happier.

Well like I said the size is the same but you will have to change out the main jet along with the other jets to the SX/ES size. You will also have to use the cable choke system on it dude to no room to have the pull lever type that the 350X has. So basicly you would use the housing with internals minus the jets.........peace

No need to change jets here

I am located in California and maybe it's the climate or just blind luck but I did not have to change the jets on neither one of the two 250SX I have changed over. The two things that have to be changed are the choke lever needs to be removed but no problem as your choke cable will screw right in and it works just like it was made for it. Also I changed the idle/throttle screw assembley which takes just a minute or so. The carb on a 250es is also the same and can be switched over easily. Not sure on the big red but I'm pretty sure it's also the same. Not sure if the performance is the same on the other models.
    Good Luck

2 clip settings up, and all the jets should be the same size as the stock jets in the SX. I believe thats is in mine, except for the jets are like 2 sizes bigger because of my exhuast and filter.
