    1982 185s carburetor help

Recently bought an old 82 honda 185s. For the life of me i can't get it to run, start, idle or anything without having the choke on atleast half( then I can zoom around but it sometimes die after stopping and idling) Today I pulled the carb and it looked almost new but I cleaned and pulled the jets and cleaned those anyway. Didn't make any difference. Even after warming up as soon as I turn off the choke it dies everytime. I'm totally new to trying to diagnose this issue but every video claims it's the jets 9/10 times. Hopefully someone has another idea. Or can advise me on how to tune the damn thing.

The "Carb looking almost new" most likely a junk china carb, if it is buy an oem or replace with an other "china" carb to have a 20% chance that china carb will work also.
And a clean air filter, fuel filter, not old gas.

It was oddly clean but has the original japanese markings on carb. Could it be a tuning issue? As soon as the choke is closed it dies. Air vox and filter have been cleaned as well.

I'd grab a rebuild kit then, things wear out/ orings disintegrate and air/ fuel flows past orifice's its not supposed too.
Thats where i'd start, then tuning it will be a hell of alot easier. Just my opinion though.
These things are 30yrs old now i'm sure it needs it.

Yeah I went ahead and ordered a rebuild kit, and I'll do that next. Took it for a short ride today and tried to keep it running in neutral by playing with the throttle as I switched off the choke and it sounded horrible and eventually just bogged down after not giving it any gas. Very frustrating
