I got the thing running again. My advice to you all: if you get one of these that you don't know it's history, or if it's from a junkyard, PUT A RING SET INTO IT! this is the best I've ever had it running, and boy does it. I bought a basket case 200x awhile back. owner tore the motor down because it smoked badly
I got it and installed a set of rings and valve seals. it starts amazingly easy

It started surprisingly easily after the rebuild. Got it started on ether, then got the gas tank hooked up and it started immediately with that. Very pleased at how well it runs.
