sold a 200x and made a little room
Bought this 185s project a few years ago for 150 bucks. has a header, factory air box, grab bar etc
missing a rear fender and seat.
So I dragged it from the side yard and started swapping parts. gas tank, a china 200x carb, fiberglass rear fender and seat I had as a spare and a set of used tires.
I need to order new grips, petcock, brake shoes. But it starts right up, doesn't leak or smoke and shifts fine.
So it's off to the internet to get the little parts ordered.
Next up is this pile of parts that was once another 185s. I think ive got everything except a rear fender and seat.
I was going to toss it all into the scrap heap, but I might as well give it a chance right? jim

Any time that you can build something out of parts, it's A LOT better than junking them.

The ATC185S is one of my favorite trikes. They're simple and fun trail machines, but they do need a suspension fork.

A rigid fork is OK if it has a nice balloon tire but it's hard to find anything close to what they originally came with. Most new options are smaller than advertised or have a stiffer carcass than the originals.

that was a brand new fiberglass fender. got one on my other 185s too. I was told that hertz or u haul used to rent trikes out back in the day and had fiberglass fenders made so when they came back broke, they would throw a new fender on them. Anyone else heard of this? jim

Yes but I thought those trikes were white? U-haul was what I read about renting them.

Supposedly this is one. U haul embossed on the rear fender. But certainly some must have been red also.

looking through my junk and found all the motor bracket and bolts. now to drop the frame on the ground, get some tires on it so it rolls, then drop a motor in it. Or that's the plan. Then I find a 200x for a reasonable price. male a call and if the seller doesn't change his mind, I'll be bringing another trike home. If it works out, I'll have pics to post. jim
