    200X trail rider build

Got my frame and parts back from powder coat last weekend. Started putting it together this week, it's a slow process as I'm building this out of a few bins of bolts and parts and a couple of junky rollers. The frame is gusseted as per recommendation here, lower cross tube moved about an inch forward to clear the drain plug on a 163FML, sleeved the front down tube and added some mounts for a battery, rectifier and starter relay. Still waiting on my wheels and battery holder to come back from powder. I mounted up a spare front yesterday and realized I have two 350X wheels and hubs (the wheel getting coated is the same as what I have), already powdered both hubs so I'll figure out how to make them fit. I'm planning to go to my shop tomorrow during this snow storm we're getting in New Hampshire so I can get a bit more done than an hour here and there. Hoping to be riding this thing when the trails open up in May, and save my back from the 200S.

    What is a 163FML?

It's a Chinese electric start motor. Good thing OP moved the tube to access the drain plug...

Yes it is a Chinese 200cc CG clone with electric start and reverse. I would prefer a Honda motor but I would also like to ride this thing in the spring, I'll be keeping an eye out for a CRF230 core engine if I can live without reverse.

Anyway, got it on the ground on a set of spare wheels, moving right along but still plenty to do. I am planning to get an IMS gas tank and Maier scoops, but I'm on the fence about keeping the OE fenders I have. If I sell my 200S for a decent price soon I'll probably just get new Maier rear plastic and a second gen 200x front fender.

Picking away at it. Trails open in May here so I'm getting close to riding time.

Update pictures attached, you can see my starter relay and rectifier mount and the swing down battery box under the back of the seat. Also had to make a carb adapter as the XR200 one I had was just a little short to reach the boot to the airbox. Working on the brake pedal now, similar to what oldskool is doing in his Big Red thread in here, bronze hat bushing and I'm going to use a piece of roll bar DOM tube to make the pivot. Also got some Holeshots for the back and got my gold powdered wheels on. Front wheel turned out to be a 350X so it's a little off center with the rotor lined up, I was going to turn the hub down a little to center it but looks like I might be able to get a 250R hub so I'll try that first. Waiting on some Honda parts, key cylinder and switch assembly so I can finish up the wiring and get the controls squared away.

I've had some issues uploading pics but I got the build done about a month ago. Still working out the little things, but got about 300 miles on it so far, got it road titled a couple of weeks ago. The engine turned out to have very short gearing, I went from a 12/40 to a 12/35 and now a 13/35 sprocket setup, it can cruise in 4th at about 30mph but still has more than enough low end for the tight trails. Reverse is pretty nice to have, but I could live without it.
