1983 ytm225dx clutch adjustment issue

Hey everyone, name is Eddie and I just got a 1983 ytm225dx. Runs great. Unfortunately I messed with the clutch adjustment screw right above the right side foot peg and now it won't go into gear. It shifts fortunately and I'm able to access neutral but I am unable to tighten or loosen the actual clutch adjustment screw.i have been looking at diagrams and I'm guessing maybe I loosened it off of whatever it was originally attached to. I ordered the new adjustment and gasket but the local dealership here in Long Island won't even touch the machine due to its age. If anyone could shed some light on the issue or provide some advice I would really appreciate it.
