Cool New member here from Orange County California!

    Hey everybody!

First of all I am super happy that I found this website. Recently my parents purchased a lake house in Washington. After a week vacation I met a dozen neighbors and several of them had Honda ATC's. After getting to know my neighbors and bonding/drinking/all that jazz.... I was able to ride their ATC and i completely fell in love!
So when I came home from WA to CA, I purchased 2 Honda atc's. a 1979 honda atc 110 and a 1983 honda atc 200. The 200 runs but has flat tires but the 110 does not run but has full tires. I've done most of the basics of working on the 110, i dont want to get super into here because I know this is just the introduction for new members thread? I have plenty of pictures of before/after/work I have done on the 110 so far but I don't want to bombard this post with too much stuff. I love these 3 wheelers. I was able to purchase both of the units for roughly $900ish dollars. I was hoping to document and post all of changes/modifications/repairs/everything I am doing to fix up these bad boys here and take any advice from anyone here who is willing to help. I am very invested and can't wait to get further into this! I did not write/post too much here because I think this is just the introduction new person thread and I don't want to be annoying or a nuisance to anyone. I respect you all. thank you for your time and cheers!

Congratulations on your introduction into ATCs.

You may want to focus on the 110 before the 200. There were some changes to the 110 through the years but they basically remained similar through the years besides the ignition going from point to CDI and a change in the shift pattern in the later models. Your 110 has a 6-pack rack, so that's cool. That's about all you'd want to carry on a 110 anyway because a full sized rack with anything on it is going to make the front really light.

The 200 has become a bit of an odd duck but luckily yours has front suspension. The engine components largely stayed the same for the later 185/200 models.\

I suggest putting a correct headlight on the 110. There's no way those LED lights work properly at anything near engine idle and the flicker at idle could be really annoying, if not worse.

The 110 engine is a structural member of the frame so it's very important you make certain all the engine bolts are there and tight. That's the number one issue that causes cracks in the frames, especially the front engine bracket.

Oh, and please refrain from block type posts. Use spacing and punctuation to break it up. This isn't Twatter or whatever social media where poor text structure is replied to. My grammar and structure isn't perfect either but please show some effort.

Not to mention that the LED lights probably won't last very long on the 110.

Thank you ATC King and 350for350. I will be focusing mainly on the 110 right now.

Should I post more pictures and progress in this thread or should I start a new one in a different area?

I just took off the carb and I'm considering maybe buying an aftermarket one.

Also I apologize for offending anyone with how I wrote my post. I was really excited when I typed it.

Cheers and thank you guys, I have many pictures I want to post of what I am doing.

You didn't offend me at all with your original post.

I mentioned it for your own benefit. It's just easier to help people when the post is quicker to read and understand. Yours wasn't the worst by any stretch because you used punctuation and capital letters at the beginning of sentences. I don't even reply to anything lacking basic punctuation and I'm certain other members here feel the same. It's headache inducing, like staring at one of those hidden images.

Again, I'm not professional at English writing either, but it's easy to spot people who at least put some effort into it and those that don't. My old journalism professor would agree and didn't hesitate to tell me I had the worst spelling of anyone he'd met.

    On to the important stuff...

I'm glad you started on the 110 first. The reason is since you're new at the ATC stuff, if you mess something up it's going to be easier to find parts for than the 200. The 110 also looks to be in worse condition and will be good practice. The 200 looks mostly complete and OE. The rear mud guards are missing but that's not as bad as busted and missing fenders for that model which aren't available new anywhere. Ones for the 110 are available new aftermarket.

If you can purchase a basic plastic welding kit, the 110 fenders can be saved. There are multiple methods for plastic repair and it's not some kind of new technology. Body shops have been doing it for decades on automobiles since the advent of large exterior plastic panels. Done properly it'll be durable but don't focus on trying to make it unnoticeable because that's not happening. Repairing them can save you a good bit of money instead of buying new aftermarket, plus it's a good skill set to have that's applicable to most anything plastic.

You've already figured out how to post images, which is going to help a lot. Go ahead, post what you've already accomplished. The whole, picture and thousand word thing applies.

If you haven't already started looking for a headlight on the 110 I suggest staying away from any of the ones listed on Amazon and Ebay. The housings are thin junk and full of large holes. Most of the used OEM ones you may find are probably overpriced and busted up.

The '79 110 probably came with a round headlight. There are some metal ones on Amazon and Ebay listed for motorcycles. I've never purchased any but that may be a good place to look and someone here who's had one may reply. Moped headlights may be a new source and treatland.tv would be a place to look at OE options that are likely more durable than anything sold on Amazon and Ebay. Alternatively (treatland joke), if you can look on French websites you may also find a good source of moped headlight assemblies with shipping to the US. I've bought a number of things from other countries direct from businesses without any issues and it's mind boggling how the shipping to here can be faster than if I ordered from within the US.

A lot of the things sold on Amazon and Ebay are just junk, that's why I'm suggesting looking elsewhere if you want better quality. Amazon and Ebay take big wet bite out of people selling on their sites which is why so much good stuff isn't found there.

I've been focused on headlights for a bit...and may find something that'll be of interest to you. To keep everything simple, clean, and properly functional, a good halogen bulb assembly would be best. If nothing else, at least a stock wattage incandescent with a new assembly.

I done a little searching but can't say for certain what other Honda headlights are the same or similar to your 110.

Maybe an ATC90 or one of the Honda motorcycles like an SL or XL of the 125cc or smaller engines. Honda very likely used something already existing, they have/had a reputation for repurposing parts.

Maybe someone who's been there and done that will reply with a solid answer.
