its that time again, ATC70 BUILD COMING.

this is the place to start a new build, to much gets lost on the pages! so lets have a little fun again, its been a while since i have used the fourms so be kind. i now have grandsons so we are building a suspension 70 for him. since the world has changed a great deal in the last 10 years this might take a little longer, not sure about picture attaching either . i like big pictures so i will try to figure it out . first off no idea on color yet as i am not picking it out. so lets see what we can do about pictures first. the frame i am starting with is in real bad shape. i started by cutting off all the brackets and had them all remade. probably why this is going to take a little longer, want everything just right, i made a few sets so i have spares just in case.

start with the bottom mounts, once positioned proper i will do the top ones too a lot of this work is already done so i am searching for picts from a moth or 2 ago so you can see what it takes to bring one back. also sent a ton of stuff out to replate , like clean hardware to make a big difference in detail and its all honda OEM too.

ok so here is that ugly plate i started with, i found a set of junior dragster rear hubs s\from lonestar, so i needed a matching front hub, i turned it out to the proper size to match the 5 lug wheels, turned a stock hub flange off and mounted the new flange on it, i cut it out out and drilled it to match, since i dont have a color combo yet i am sure they will get painted some color.

since this is for the kids....... its true. i had no need to beef up the clutch or the transmission so i am using a stock bottom end. went with an 85 so they get use to up shifting , i bought a 54 mm piston kit from dratv and a short cylinder from tbolt. nobody makes a kit . so it will be a short stroke 95 cc motor. it will rev quick and low end grunt, i am using a newer late model xr70 head since the cam runs on bearings not in the aluminum, got a little more than stock lift but not much. all i had to do is clearance the oil pump shaft and bore the cases , the motor looks stock except the cylinder is aluminum , going to build the manifold so i can keep a 20mm carb under the tank like stock too.
