My neighbor was moving and parted easily with this ‘99 Polaris Sport 400 with trailer for $400! Needs a shift linkage and possibly battery, otherwise everything works! What are these worth?

Nice!
Those are simple and fun quads. As fun as a quad can be anyway.

A buddy of mine had one.
Pretty unique when you think about it. A two stroke, 4x4 sport quad.
I don't remember if it has the reverse override, that'll let it go nuts in reverse. If it does, that'll throw one heck of a rooster tail in reverse.

What do you think I could sell it for?

It's at least worth what you paid for it.
Beyond that, IDK. I'm sure there are a lot of junked ones out there, as many people don't care to spend the money to fix or keep a Polaris ATV going. Probably a bunch of them that nobody is even trying to sell, that are rotting away under a tree or something. I tried looking for any Polaris ATVs on C-list, and there's not much out there. Maybe look at marketplace. I don't do the F-book thing, so no idea.
I like them, but I'm not normal...I guess.

Working on a cool trade for a Honda! I can't seem to find any OEM parts fiche for this machine. It's a 2002 Polaris Sport 400, but it's like it doesn't exist... Any ideas?

Good luck on the trade.
I quickly looked through some of the available OEM parts for that Polaris. There's still a lot available, body plastics not being among them, but some of the major bits like axles and gearboxes are, albeit expensive.

Check the oil in the counter balancer compartment, if it's milky and/or has antifreeze in it, the water pump seal is shot. It's a common issue with these Polaris 2-stroke 400's. It's repairable if the water pump shaft isn't too rusted. There's a guy on ebay that re-grinds the waterpump shaft and sends a new set of seals out with it.
You can't get a new waterpump/counter balancer shaft anymore.
I just redid the one on my brothers '95 Scrambler
