Looks great for 45 years old! Not many Can-Am's around when I was a kid. You'd figure with all the Ski-Doo dealers around there'd have been a bunch, but I'm not sure if they were dealer by dealt, or if you have to specifically be a Can-Am dealer.
If you ever get tired of it I think it would look great in the Western Aviation Museum on the edge of Moose Jaw... sitting on a Co-Op or Pic-a-Pop Crate. They could use a Taurus there as well.
One of the guys I know through these bikes was a Ski-Doo dealer and I guess it was an option they had whether or not to sell them for the summer time. I think my most coveted bike would have to be an '85 ASE 500 - insane enduro power.
I'm not sure I could ever get rid of it, it's too much fun being a hooligan on. I'll definitely post more pictures to an additional album though!
Thanks!
My neighbor growing up had many 2 stroke can ams, three of us kids could ride on that bike. I stopped riding double when one time roosting around a dried up stream bed I flew off the back. Unfortunately none of those bikes are still around, his house burnt down and they were stored in the basement.
You know what else has a rotary valve?
The most powerful 100cc two stroke ever made...KE100!
I had a really nice 1978 DT400 that I should have kept. Not super powerful, but it was a one kick starter and the oil injection made it simple to fuel. It did have nice low end power and was a good low speed trail bike, with plenty of highway speed.
The story of three wheels and a man...
Iron Creek, is that a play on Iron River, AB by chance? Super cool bike btw!
