Thanks for the thread, as I as many don't do FB but do want and plan to attend the Invasion. Hope to see everybody again.

FB dates are Friday Feb 21 thru Friday Feb 28. Of course some will be early and some stay late.

I think a Mod should move this thread to "Rides, Events, Location" section.

I'm glad someone finally decided to post about this on here. I already hit up Billy Golightly about the details for this, as this will be my first time attending and I only live 3 hours from there. He also mentioned that it will be in Glamis this time instead of Gordon's Well/Buttercup. I am much more familiar with that side of the dunes anyways. Looking forward to seeing you all there!

I'm looking at a map trying to figure out if when driving from TX on I10 West its better to stay on I10 all the way to 78, or get onto I8 and come back North to Glamis on one of those roads I see that runs North West. It looks like I8 is shorter, but I'll take the opinion of someone whose done it over my GPS any day.

Also, how's it to get groceries and gas compared to Gordon's well and the 40 minute drive to Yuma?

    Thanks in advance!

Hey Nico, Take the I-8 west to 86 north, to the 78 east to Glamis. Easiest route .

Nico , I would come prepared as far as groceries. There are vendors and the glamis store but it is pricey and limited selection. Brawley is 15 miles away , same thing limited and it’s a journey even then. And I would bring gas. You can get it in Brawley or grab it in Arizona and save some money. 5 gallons a day if you ride hard and a lot.

Nico buy the last of your needed supplies in Yuma. Then take Ogiby road north to 78, west to Glamis. Having just sent 24 days at Glamis, Vets thru TG one of my son's friends needed a buggy part in Yuma, took the shortest west side route then returned via Ogiby, yes it's a two lane road but was shorter and faster. If you decide to go the west side, take 111 north to 78 east. Now at this intersection, to the left, the new Pilot service center sells the 35 dollar weekly passes. Hope to see you again this year.

Hats off & thumbs up for those involved in making Roadrunner estates possible this year. Clearly the best place for all of the attendees. Best access. Plus it's closer to Duners Diner. Coming in large on the 20th for neighborhood improvements

    Hey west coast friends!

This will be our 6th Invasion, but first one in Glamis. Is Roadrunner a well known place? IE. If we tell the folks at Camp N Style (they rent us the camper) to drop it with the group at Roadrunner estates, will they know where to drop our rig? We are doing the whole week this year, so our camper will be arriving on Monday (hopefully ahead of us). 40 foot Weekend Warrior this trip.

Gunner's Duner's Diner comment above is a nice surprise. I always enjoy eating there, but thought that would be out this year since we are in Glamis and not Gordon Wells.

All the rental folks know where Roadrunner estates is, the very end of Gecko Rd. Although this will be an off weekend (fewer people non holiday weekend) Steve is going to help us out in getting enough space. A large group of us rode to Duner's Diner last year, it'll be @ 18 miles, hell it'll be just a little more than if take sand highway from RR to the Glamis Beach store. Only a month away...... hope to see everybody there.

I'm getting ready to pop my sandbox cherry this winter. My wife and I aligned our trip with some seasoned veterans to avoid mistakes, I cant wait to meet my west coast friends. And of course, cant wait to see Nico again.
Looking for a Bassani silencer for a 2nd gen tecate, the style with the movable mount. 1st gen will work
