well i must say im pretty stoked to see there is a place wherei could race trikes. im now in central florida for the winter but i live in the detroit area. im collecting some parts right now so i can do a full resto on my 86tri-z race bike that ive had since new but havent raced since 87. Hopefully itll be up and running by midsummer and id love to hook up with you guys at a track. ohio is no prob drive for me, but do you know of any races here in southern mich? either way its great to see some competitive guys attackin a track on trikes.
Just wanted to know if anyone was planning on racing the Hare Scramble on April 25th since it is only two weeks away. It sounds like a lot of fun. From what I've read you definately need a kill switch. Is it true you don't need any kind of number plates?

This is not actually a Hare Scramble, sorry for the confusion. However I do have the following information regarding the MX and Short Track events held there. Short Track races are held on Saturday, while MX is on Sunday I emailed the vice chairman and got this reply.
Hello Kevin,
We are allowing 3-wheelers to race at our facility this year in both MX
and short track. This year we have a 3-wheeler class added into our short
track events and this class will be eligible for series awards. This class
will be a 3-wheeler only class with no limitations on cc size because we are
not sure how many riders will race at our events this year. We are aware
that there are different size 3-wheelers, namely 200's and 250's, and if we
get a large turnout of both we might split them into different classes just
for that event. But, this decision will be made by our Short Track
Director, Bruce Levings, and you can reach him if you have any questions at
bklevings@earthlink.net. As far as MX goes, we have not assigned a class for 3-wheelers only. If we get a large turnout of 3-wheelers, we can include a class just for them per event. If there are only a few, they will have to race in the classes assigned to them. We are allowing 3-wheelers to race MX, but they will not be eligible for series points or awards, but they are eligible for series points and awards for the 3-wheeler class only in short track. You are right that you are not required to be a member of any motorcycling organization to race at Sunset. Thanks for asking!!

Hey Kryten, I havent decided what Im going to do yet. Im still waiting for my cylinder, so I dont know If my trike will be up or not. Are they running short track on the 24th or is that a little farther out there? I met Mark and he's a super guy, and a former triker. Apparently our presence at the harescarmble had a big impact. Im looking at an ATV Rally on the 24th, Sunset Ramblers MX or Hidden Valley HS on the 25th, so Ive probably got to choose between the three. I will, say this, though, for all the guys who complain about the ommission of 3 wheelers, if you dont suuport the guys who do allow them, they wont continue to open them up to you. For that reason Im leaning towards Sunset, whether it be on 3 or 4 wheels.
I believe the short track is on Sat. the 24th and MX is on Sun. the 25th. If I decide to go, it will be on Sunday for the MX. Saturday is kind of busy, or would like to check out the short track. Guessing the MX track isn't too difficult, although I won't be doing any significant jumps. Anyway, just ordered a tethered kill switch for my 250R. Hopefully the rules are posted by now so I know if I need anything else. If more riders from 3Wheelerworld are going, I will definately try to make it.

The MX rules are now posted. Looks like I will need a number plate as well, although from has been said here already, number plates weren't required for the Hare Scramble. I am still not sure what time the races are held since they are not posted.
