What do you guys use to strap down your wheelers and what tinsel strength are they. I've been using rope on mine, but would like to upgrade to a proper securing device. How do you store them when not in use?

I also have some of these and they work great . Bigger than the typical ratchet straps but sure are nice..

Teaching quads a lesson
Standard stuff, keep them dry, keep them clean and be mindful of their tensile strength. I roll mine up after I fully extend them after use and store them that way. A good old Army surplus ammo can is watertight, durable and cheap to purchase to hold them in one spot. One trick is to give the long end one twist when securing the strap as it runs along a flat surface to keep the strap from vibrating badly at highway speed; along the sides only! I prefer to use straps that are at least 1" in width.

Just keep in mind that straps have a safe working limit and a break strength. Typically the safe working limit is between 1/3 and 1/2 of the advertised break strength.
If you opt for the cam lock type be sure to tie a knot in front of the cams as they can slip and loosen unless they are high quality which is difficult to find these days.

That is great advise. Here is a link to different tensile strengths of poly strap material. I have a lot of homework ahead of me before I make a decision on what straps will be best for my 125m.

I've used the cheapest Walmart/Harbor Frieght/K-Mart straps around on my 1000lb Goldwing, quads, bikes, etc. I shipped classic Bultacos to collectors in Italy with cheap pull straps.....never a fail.
Use the 20% coupon at harbor frieght.

If you go riding with my buddies... I recommend marking them some where to id them. Never fails everyone has the same straps and often get swapped out. Leaving you with the spent bent or worn one. They somehow get long barrow too, always nice to grab one back off your buds hook in the garage. Well after you share some of his cold beverage collection.

I've been using Ancra for nearly 30 years. They never slip or loosen. You really don't need the extra hassle of ratchet straps. You can pull cam straps surprisingly tight.

Hey bob i do not think rope is a good idea to tie down any vehicle for better security i would suggest Tie down straps work for Motorcycles, cars, ATVs & UTVs.
