So yesterday afternoon I went to one of the few remaining local boneyards that allow you to pull your own parts. I used to hang with the guy that owned this one years ago. It's pretty awesome and took me back to my younger days of junkyard shopping.

I managed to get a complete ABS module and pump combo for 40.00 and a complete instrument cluster to salvage the bulbs mentioned in my earlier post for 30.00.

They have a nice set up there: You go into the office and sign in, sign a disclaimer, then outside they have a fenced in area with about 75 wheel barrows you can use. Load up your tools, wheel about the yard to find your parts, wheel thru the check out and you're done.

On their website you can search up which vehicles you need parts for and they have them listed in numbered rows. You still have to do some wandering since they aren't bunched up by manufacturer, but every vehicle I wanted to check for the parts I needed was in the row listed on the website. Saved me a lot of time aimlessly wandering the yard to find a vehicle.

being able to use a wheelbarrow made hauling my stuff a lot easier!!

Did you try disassembling and cleaning the old switch?
To be honest it's tiring being violently anally raped everytime your at the dealer....for anything. I use to think Victoria's Secret or Macy's was expensive but HD motorclothes for women makes them feel like Family Dollar. I think this time I've learned my lesson buying cheap Chinese items for HD.

The HD switches were made in Mexico.

Sometimes I feel like selling my Limited and getting the new Goldwing and leaving all the HD hoopla behind

    Merry Christmas!

Ho, Ho, Holy hell I think I cracked a rib.

When done with projects last night, I decided to take the 185S for a spin because it's been sitting there a couple months. I guess the left rear tire blew out and I piled up in the ditch. While moving pretty good in top gear, it suddenly didn't want to steer correctly and that was in a turn. No time to do much other than look for a soft spot.

The trike and I came to a rest after some tumbling, with the trike upside down and me wondering where my shoes were. After a quick self assessment that I wasn't dead or dieing, I rolled the trike back over and with several pulls on the rope, managed to get it started. The headlight still worked, which aided in finding my shoes. I could also see where fuel had been coming out of the tank; nice.

I limped it back home the several miles, properly ruining the tire and damaging the wheel. Then I got in front of a mirror for a more thourough diagnosis. A little blood here and there from mostly superficial scrapes and the briars that were in the ditch, but I could tell there was going to be several good looking bruises later. General soreness all over, which is typical after some freestyle cartwheeling. Then there's the rib thing...which I'm pretty certain at least one is cracked. Merry Christmas indeed.

Trike isn't too bad. Of course the tire and possibly the wheel is junk. Bent bars and some scrapes. There was a tiny puddle of oil under the engine and rear sprocket this morning. No case damage I seen so far and it looks like just oil out of the breather from being upside down a while. The downtube for the breather is also in the area. When I get to feeling better, I'll look at it more closely.

Really no idea about the tire and what happened. Visually, the tire was in great condition. Maybe I hit something I didn't see or there was a defect.

That's the CA tax. It's not part of the contiguous US and very far away, which explains why everything cost so much...

Wondering what that carb cleaner cost in a Fairbanks Walmart for comparison, I went to their website and chose that as the home store. I actually done that for several Walmarts, including the insane number of them in and around San Diego. The webiste price was all the same, under $2. I wonder if it's bought online and picked up curbside, if it actually is less than purchasing in the store?

Here's what it is in Arkansas. Not the exact same thing, but should be close enough.

Ain't it terrible what those Hollywood actors go through, while everyday people have it so easy. There's a whole lot of people that hate their job, but won't quit either.

Hope you're not banged up too bad.

I also looked online and saw that I could pick up cans of carburetor cleaner as well...like at around $2.00 a can at my local Walmart. I might try that to see if it's true.

Keanu always seemed like he's battling something.....perhaps it's his persona. Inner demons in one's mind can always be a troubling thing. I've seen one of his Arch motorcycles before........maybe he gets some relief like the rest of us.....some wind therapy

Thanks. I'll be alright. May go to the doctor after this weekend, if for nothing else, to get some decent pain meds so I can sleep better. There's nothing they can do for cracked ribs, that's on me for the healing part, and I've come to the conclusion that most places don't have a doctor who can read X-rays worth a dang unless the bone is just about in two pieces.

Family was over yesterday and it was painful. Too much laughing going on and me just about doubling over with every one of them.

The Arch bikes are certainly clean slate designs and look like they're built by actual engineers. Of all the custom cruisers out there, they look like some of the most functional and the aesthetics are pretty spot on for the segment. The one with the tank scoops is pusing it a little though. At the $70,000+ prices, they're not intended for people like me. There's a lot of $7,000 bikes that I'd get just as much enjoyment out of riding and besides, what good is a nice bike if a guy can't take his favorite gal for a ride.

I own a Harley, but no motorclothes.

My bike is a '97 so the Stealership doesn't carry any parts for me except 16" inner tubes and those overpriced spark plugs. I have no reason to even go in there. Last time I was in there, they had much more clothing and swag than they did motorcycles. I have friends who wear HD label everything, they have bar and shield furniture, Ford pickups in HD edition, etc. I'm not bothered by their interest but I don't understand it. Harley should pay people for advertising for them.

I don't even think I own any other motorcycle brand clothing except an old Triumph shirt my kids got me 15 years ago. I'm usually the guy wearing plain white Ts in the midst of a convoy of black-clad and motorclothes-clad buddies.

I might feel different if they werent so ridiculously expensive. My bike is expensive enough to ride as it of is, without needing a couple thousand dollars worth of clothing to drive home the point that I like my Fatboy "bagger"

Nope no real lookers scooter, however there was one woman i believe she was swedish? around 6'-5 tall very leggy blond and slight tan- that never suited up.. however my imaginary x-ray vision goggles worked well.
My boys were after (hung out with) two cute girls BUT found out they were only 14 so ya that didnt end well. It was funny to see my boys develop many a plan to introduce themselves at first though.

Not doing much these days. We have been getting the shi# kicked out of us with cold weather. I've been able to take the dog for a walk only 3 times in over a month now....lots of 3 legged pisses for that little one, lol. We don't even have the rink made on the lake yet which is weird for us even though there has to be at least 8" of ice now. You'd think I'd be getting a lot done in the shop....but cold beer by the fire is nice too :-). This was yesterday's forecast in Fahrenheit.

    Dang that's cold!
We were in the 70s during Christmas and it has dropped to 50-60s. Calling for a chance of snow Sunday but doubt it amounts to much if anything.

Last day in the office for 2021 for me today.
