Watching the IDrive cameras again this morning, even though it's giving my anxiety. Thank goodness I don't have to drive anywhere.

This is I30 in Texarkana. Yes that truck is PASSING the other vehicles, and they're not going slow by any means.

This line is moving along pretty good, and that following distance is too little even for dry roads and good weather.

This is just northeast of Texarkana and both vehicles are hauling butt, as in legal highway speeds for good conditions.

If that isn't scary enough, realize that a minuscule amount of drivers here even have winter tires. Maybe none actually.

Anyone who honestly watches car racing for the crashes, can just watch IDrive Arkansas today. https://www.idrivearkansas.com/

Maybe you can video a live crash and post it on social media for viral views. Whose the winner? You are!

I'd say be safe out there, but it's impossible with the way the majority of people drive.

    EDIT:

Looky here, I found some brilliant motorists, now stuck on the side of the interstate in Fayetteville. I bet they're complaining about how long it's taking someone to tow their vehicles, when their me,me,me attitude is what most likely put them there in the first place.

Another dump of snow overnight and where the wind hasn't drifted everything we've got a foot on the ground. Took the 185s again, topped off it's waste oil furnace of a motor and let er rip! Doing donuts and busting through plow drifts @ 2-3ft deep on the edge of the road. Passed a cop and he didn't bat an eye lol. I learned the 22" tires are.cool for top speed, and street/trail riding but in this deep stuff it took several runs and wheelieing through the deep stuff to just barely make it.

My buddy has a Subaru Outback AWD, I wasn't gonna take my truck out but he called me up. He was off work too, so we headed out to find the gnarliest backroads we could find. I was seriously impressed with its performance, that thing busted through drifts and up hills I wouldnt have thought of taking with my Tacoma and even chains.

I don’t miss the week long deep freezes at all. Do you guys at least have enough snow to keep the water pipes from freezing up like they did a few years ago?

Several coworkers have had pipes freeze when it went negative temps a few days ago. We were lucky, haven't heard any hissing under the house. I will crawl under there later and check but for now....f it.
I sealed off my crawlspace vents a few years ago and put in a dehumidifier. I think my floors are so poorly insulated that a lot of heat escapes down there. That and the warm ducts keep it warm enough.

My mom had the roof fall in on a shop building.......where the antique cars are
Only seen a couple pics but it fell in on 2 that I can see

A large portion of I40 was turned into a parking lot, thanks to reckless drivers. One incident involved a big truck, that hit-and-ran a State Troopers patrol car. They found him on down the road.

Just a whole lot of crap all over the state, but that section of I40 between Little Rock and Memphis is a three ring.

That section of 40 is panic inducing even during good weather. It's mostly big truck traffic, not obeying ANY laws, and virtually no law enforcement present. If the price of corporations doing business is a few lives, so be it. Riding a motorcycle on that stretch is miserable.

Some images of that stretch from yesterday. One of the crashes is barley in screen, but it's there.

This is going into Memphis, over the Arkansas River. Yes, that's a pyramid, and no, it's not connected to aliens. It's for bass fishing equipment.

The traffic was moving at a safe pace, but then again, it was probably out of fear more than caution, because just down the road, they were back to passing each other.

This is from Index bridge this morning, over the Red River, facing the Arkansas side. It's highway 71, going into Texarkana.

The states that physically close interstate travel during weather like this, are way ahead in tax money saved, and lives. There is not nearly enough emergency personal to handle that kind of stuff, and people continually prove too ignorant to properly handle their vehicles during it. Texarkana at least shut down some flyovers. I'd bet there were some car drivers stuck idling on I40 yesterday, with the fuel light on, and freaking out because of their own poor planning, and not a blanket one in the car.

I hate driving that stretch from Little Rock to Memphis. Even when there isn't bad weather you better check for road construction delays or accidents.
Normal conditions is littered with big trucks and everyone else driving 80-90mph to get by them. If you get in the fast lane, you better smash that loud pedal or you get runt over. If you get back over in the slow lane to let faster cars by, you get caught behind big trucks obeying the speed limit or some danm idiot pulling 3 salvaged cars with "IN TOW" written on the back glass.

Took the HD out to check some land holdings.

This is DEFINITELY not an off-road bike but....considering the ride was about 420 highway miles and only 5 miles off-road.....my wife would have horribly uncomfortable on the Suzuki DR so carefully juggling 5 miles with a 1000 lb street bike made sense.
