    85' Big Red fuse location

    Think I blew a fuse when trying to hook up an LED yesterday. Went to try it out and when I turned the key, the neutral light went on then Out! Going to assume it's a fuse that is blown. Just not sure where it or they are located. Any help would be appreciated. Pictures even better. Or, just guide me in the right direction and what to look for. Thank you.

    Main fuse on the red is in a little rubber boot type thing, forget what side of the frame, i believe it is zip tied to frame, wires run into it and back out same direction. It is not a fuse you can buy at hardware store, it's the old school wire type. If I remember correctly it's down by where the subframe branches off of the main frame. I'd send you a pic, but I sold mine. Hate that I did so too.

    This fuse is hard to find. Let us know where you find one. It's located on the left side.

    If it is that fuse in the back that is flat with a hook type on each end, let me know I have a couple of extra. I will go to my shop in the morning and see exactly where it is and take a picture of the spares I have. I got mine from Honda a couple of years ago, don't know if they are still available or not.

    Thanks for the help so far. When I get home from work I'll check that black box. I located it this morning before I left for work but didn't have time to open it. Are there any other fuses to check? I thought that I read something about some by the headlight housing, where the wire for the headlight is housed. Is this true?

    There are fuses in the headlight assembly . Not sure what they do , but don't think it will keep you from running . Or is it just dash lights out ? If its just lights I would check in the headlight assembly , Extras in there as well . They are tube type . The wrench looking fuse is in the left side on the frame at the rear tire . I replaced mine with a modern fuse , ' fuse holder .

    Well after further investigation, I retraced my steps and it looks like the cable from the battery came loose just enough to lose connectivity. So, tightened it up and I'm back in business. Sorry for the trouble and your time, all for my simple error. However, I'd still like to thank you for your help. I learned a few things along the way. Appreciate your help and efforts.
