I have a UNI Filter pod filter on my trike that measures 4"dia. X 6" long. Does anyone have one like this and use a dry pre-filter, or an Outerwear's cover on it? I need something for riding in sand.

It sucks to get old
most of the hard core riders use K&N with outterwear prefilters here in the west coast dunes.
Saying "it's the trikes fault" is like saying "guns kill people"
don't poke the bear... you'll get banned

I run the UNI's in all my trikes now. No outers, just a good dose of foam air cleaner oil.

Here's my typical regimen:
DAY 1 - Ride with properly oiled UNI (or stock or Moose) foam filter with Outerwear** prefilter.
DAY 2 - Remove outerwear, just run (still clean and oiled) foam filter
DAY 3 - Pull clean / freshly oiled foam filter #2 with clean Outerwear cover #2 from gallon plastic ziploc (this was prepped at home and placed with my riding gear). Five minute install and ready to ride.
DAY 4 - See DAY 2
**Doesn't have to be Outerwear name brand. K&N makes these too. Most are even machine washable!
The drawback is that the Outerwear covers are tight and tend to collapse the foam filter somewhat. If you have the OEM mesh cage AND IF the cage is compatible with the aftermarket foam filter this is not a problem.
Some filters just have a spring inside. I have had mixed results with these.
"EL" I've used aluminum sprockets for years with good success. As the soft power sand isn't as abrasive as dirt and or mud. Sand doesn't cling to the moving parts and squeezes out easier while submerged riding the razor tops.

Here you go El, I run these prefilters with great success.
Uni all the way.
If this isn't the exact fit, search R2C prefilters; they make several different sizes.
