Definitely a YES on the stock tank. Looks alot better.
Paul MANBEARPIG on here should be able to hook you up on the front brake and fender parts.

    Looks good!

Absolutely, the stock tank is what solidifies this build as an old school racer. Very nice!!!

Looking great! I would do what was mentioned earlier. Shine the plastics up and rock them until you find a better set if you want. I would leave them on it for a rider tho. I have a hard time buying new plastics and tearing them up lol. I'm cheap tho lol!

That's an aftermarket DG RCM atc 200x exaust. It's quite a bit louder than stock but not as loud as I thought it would be. I would have liked to find a stock 200x exaust but they were more expensive in real rough shape.

Yeah I'm now adding a stock tank to the list of things to buy problem is no one on ebay wants to guarantee a leak free tank if I remove the paint for body work.

I couldn't agree more. That's the exact look I'm going for and this does it for me. Thanks for the comments.

I'm kinda enjoying the "been there done that" look it has right now. Not sure I want everything to look new. Kinda like when people rebuild a car but clear coat the old patina.

Yeah once I got started everything just started to fall into place. It was kind of hard for me to just stop working on it some nights. That first ride kept nagging at me. And the closer I got the worse it was. Now that I have ridden it I can't wait to find the last few parts, tune it and ride this thing for real.

    Success!!!

Here is what everyone has been waiting for including me. A riding video of the trike, It's extremely short, looks like it was recorded on a potato and was shot between carb tuning but you get a early video of it running. Now I'm sorry for the extreme delay with my posting between work, The Fire Department and the holidays I haven't had a whole lot of time to work on this.

Sorry another is video coming. My previous video violated forum rules. So I took it down so I wouldn't cause MORE work for the mods.

I had a problem with the trike running rough for a bit and shutting off. long story short I bought an iridium ngk spark plug to see how it would hold up and it ran very poor. The plug ended up being a waste of time and money. I just put a standard plug in and it runs perfect. I also just got a fender for it the picture is below. I like the way it looks I think it adds to the been there done that look I'm going for. Right now I'm working out a deal for the front brake set up. Then I'll get the number plate and mount ordered and then I get to really ride (any recommendations for a reasonably priced number plate?). I am very excited about this, There's something about firing up something you have been working on so hard for so long for the first time. It's a high I hope I never grow a tolerance to.

Thanks for all the support with this build.
    Hopper055 (Phillip)

EDIT: I'm very sorry I just realized that I am not wearing a helmet in the video. Like I said in the post I was experimenting with carb adjustments and didn't put on a helmet for the quick laps up and back I was taking between adjustments. If it needs to be removed I have no problem with it. Again I am very sorry for breaking forum rules.

EDIT #2: I decided to take the video down. I don't want to be "that" guy. I'll be installing the fender tomorrow and I'll make another video with a helmet.

Thank you very much, I am very proud of it. I know its not up to the caliber some of the trikes people are building on the forums but It's mine and I actually get to ride it. I have caught the bug I'm already planning another build after this one is buttoned up.

And as promised here's is another video of me riding the trike(with a helmet and front fender). Again its pretty short and looks like it was filmed with a potato. The brakes need to be adjusted because they are squeaking but other than that I'm happy with it.

Hello again three wheeler world, I am sorry about my absence from this thread. Life and other projects have gotten in the way the last couple months and this project got put on the back burner. Today I had some spare time and actually got to work. I now have everything together and I rode it for the first time off pavement today. After getting the brakes bled(looks like I will have to re bleed them because my hose is clocked wrong) and adjusted then some carb tuning she ran perfect. I couldn't be happier with this trike. She rides great and the brakes work very well. It's everything I wanted it to be when I started. I'm apprehensive about actually taking it somewhere and getting it scratched/dirty. But I built this to ride and and I will ride it.

I would just like to thank everyone who helped me one more time. Without any one of these people this build probably would have not happened.

    Special thanks to:
Zeeker1 (The swing arm kit, pictures and knowledge)
Ol Deuce (Stem adapter and knowledge)
    Shortline10 (Parts advice/Knowledge)
Vealmonkey (Never talked to him but I have learned a lot from him)
My mother (For always believing in me)
My Father (For passing on the passion of wrenching Without him I wouldn't even be here)
My Brother (For encouraging me to build this trike)

And thank you everyone for viewing my thread I had a lot of fun building this trike. And I had a lot of fun discussing not only my build but everyone else's also.

Now that this one is "done". I have a new project a 1984 ATC 250r There is a picture of it below (Sorry about the mess I clearly have a problem). I only hope I like it half as much as this 185s. I have been collecting parts for the last couple of months. I need a few more but I am finding them slowly but surely. I'm debating on if I should make a thread about it. Its not going to be anything special like my 185s. I just want to have a clean well running 250r. I had been looking for an air cooled 250r since I bought my first trike. I finally found one and now I just want to get it torn apart so I can get it back together.

Hey Hopper, your trike turned out GREAT. Somehow I lost track of this thread so thanks for sending me the PM. You really hit the lottery when you bought the rear suspension cause I had MANY people wanting it just after you. Probably sold it too cheap....LOL....I'm just tickled that you used it. By looking at your vid, You don't look like a wimpy guy so is the rear spring/shock assembly feel right? If you're gonna take it in the woods, you might think about fabbing up some sort of skid plate. I also think the adaptor OL Deuce is making for the 200x front end is the HOT TICKET......This is my latest yard toy. As you can see by the date on this thread, it's not moving too fast. (It's still hanging in pieces in my garage rafters) http://www.3wheelerworld.com/showthr...lson-diversion I got hung up spending money on this plastic buckboard Click image for larger version.

I love the way your trike turned out. I hope to build one myself some day. What problem are you talking about? The only problem I see is that you need a bigger garage!

I'm leaning towards making one. Only because there is such a shortage of air cooled 250r builds on here.

Thank you again for the kit and your kind words. I couldn't be happier with how it turned out. Originally I was worried about the suspension bottoming out also. But I have not experienced it bottoming out yet. I never plan to jump it so I don't think it will be a problem. If a problem arises I'll try to get the rear shock built to my weight.
Where I plan to ride the most keeps the main trails groomed fairly well and I don't want to be too rough on it off the main trails. I have other atvs that I can ride on rough terrain. So I don't feel the immediate need to add a skid plate. I may add one anyway it can't hurt. How was yours attached?
Yes the adapter was perfect. Without it the kit would probably still be sitting in the box. I was waiting for aftermarket forks and just couldn't find any that I thought were reasonable. I found his thread searching one day and it clicked. I messaged him and had one on the way. He really helped get the ball rolling. And I would love to see a new post in your build thread that's going to be a sweet ride. Beautiful corvette by the way.

Thank you very much for you kind words. The best advice I can give you is to just start. I'm still kicking my self for not doing this sooner. I could have been riding this all last summer if I had just started. And yes that is my problem and it is a huge problem. I need more space but it is not an option right now. So I'm going to have to kick a few squares out of my atv collection.
