Picked this up cheap and was going to fix it up and ride. Found out it will not work out as my left knee does like to bend a certain way and pops out. When it does I can't put any weight on it. Same issue riding offroad. I am getting old....

The 600's never exited me. I was still riding an early 80's 1100 when that bike came out.

My old FZR600 seemed to have more low end then the high reving 600's. For 90% of people they are fast enought but Once you ride the 900s+ going back to 600's feel like little 125 2 strokes litterly. You should be able to sell or trade the R6 for somthing nice. its about a 2200 bike in todays world on a hot summer day.

Just sold my pristine 91 ZX7 because I have similar issues with my lower back. I couldn't take a ride on that for longer than 30 minutes or I would be out for the next day. Ironically my 86 GSXR gives me little discomfort....go figure.

Yamaha 600 series since the late 80s have been the best 600cc platform out there.....period.....with some periodic challengers....the 90s SRAD.

But I surrendered to my back issues and enjoy long rides along the beach on Gold wings and such where I can go 6 to 8 hours with little to no back pain. More upright stuff I'm seaking. Like this old sporty I'm going to get back up to speed.

Yes it does. For me and the bike. I am 40+ years old. I did not grow up on big HP. Had a couple street bikes back in the day. 1979 Honda 400SS and a 1984 Honda 500 Interceptor. Always had somesort of bike in the stable.

I still have it. It has been sitting in my garage. I should have sold it off when I got it knowing I can't ride it anymore...

A friend messaged me today and is very interested. I pulled it out of storage. It will need a carb clean. Why oh why do I still have this... If he does not take it I am going to part it out and be done with it.

Been socking some money to the side. Sold my Honda snowblower at the beginning of the year. Now just sold this. Selling my old 2007 Sienna as I got a 2011 Sienna now that I payed cash for.. Just purging some stuff.

I don't owe anything on credit besides my mortgage on the house. I think at this point I will take 1/2 the money from selling the stuff off and look for a more modern day dirtbike. My 1985 Xl250 is ok but brakes suck when they get wet. Dual drums. LOL. I want something with disc brakes. Other have I will put into the mortgage...

Sad to hear about your condition. The 90s R6 looks great, this is the oldest model I have seen. I currently ride the 2019 Yamaha R6 in tech black with an Akrapovic slip-on. Sadly they are going to discontinue the R6 from now onwards and it will only be available in a track variant. As per Mototech India, the 2020 edition was the last variant of the Yamaha R6.
