Push the bulb in and turn it.
1983 ATC 185s 200 jug bored .20 9.5:1 Naumura piston. Fast as ass when its not stretching the drive chain or stripping hubs.
1986 ATC 250ES. *Total garbage trying to sell it*
1983 YTM 200E. Runs good, forks are super bent but aside from that its mint.
1984 YTM 200L. Barn find, everything is mint except the bottom end is bad... *waiting on a new engine*

That you got it out without smashing the bulb and digging it out with a pair of needle nose pliers is a good sign.

You may have a broken wire, or just corrosion on the contacts. Suggest you find someone who can use a multi-meter rather than guess your way into a bigger mess.
    It sucks to get old

If there is much corrosion in the socket, the light bulb won't make contact. Maybe try carefully cleaning socket with a small round brush. I always smear dielectric grease in the sockets. And yes you need a multimeter.

How many plumbers does it take to change a light bulb?

Five------1 to hold the bulb & 4 to spin the ladder
