My vote is.....unI. The K&N's are fine, you are supposed to keep them oiled better than I do to ensure dust gets trapped . With that said, both need more attention than they get from me, lol. Running an air box with either is ideal and part of the overall design and getting clean dry air from through the frame helps 100%. Stock is usually smart, so maybe foam is better.K&N gives you some more power as you may need to rejet, they say to use their oil on them too. The K&N oil sprays in a stream and not a mist so I feel like it is a waste of oil using their brand name oil. Usually have to set it aside to drip dry. Maybe any lubricating oil would work though.

i use both Depending ont he track and dirt type. uni (foam style) for sandy or dry tracks, K&N for wet tracks with clumpy dirt. i do use the outerwear filter on the K&n units.

I ran a K&N for a while, with an outers over it and ended up with dirt in my engine. So for me its a UNI from now on.

K&N only without an outerwear. Outerwear pre-filter seems too restrictive, and defeats the purpose of running a K&N in my opinion.

I like my UNI filter on my 85 200x but it is not held on by a bracket and when you tighten the hose clamp to secure it, it will sometimes pop off. Need to order an air box ring to reinforce the connection point. The UNI filter is also easier for me to clean than the stock filter.

Nope, you need one of my 25$ 6061 billet aluminum rings that fit it your airbox and allow to to tighten your air filter clamp as tight as you want.

It's funny to watch them slide off when you tighten down on your airbox fittings The box plastic just tapers over time and use.

I would like to buy one of those from you. Let me know the payment details and I'll definitely order one.
