Yes engines swap easily either way. Lots of people do this to have a auto-x. I myself have a 84 200x with a 85 200s engine. 200x is clutched. 200s is semi auto.

Okay cool, I got a big red In a trade and the guy gave me a 200s engine and now I'm going to go get a 200x with a 185s engine on Saturday. I'm considering to do an engine swap. Or trade someone my 200s engine for a 200x so I can have the kick start and manual clutch
