We rode on wet sand a couple days from Xmas to New Years 1/1/2016 and kept popping outside tire beads off rim. Thanks goodness i had bead breaker and air and bead sealer along at camp. We stopped 1 day after riding 45min and 4 of 5 machines had tires going down 3 mi from camp. Bad things man. Some tires got damaged. Great traction bad for holding tires on rims.

I hope to make it out there in the next year or two. Sand dunes are fun, I've always wanted to experience the wide openness of glamis. Silver lake is Michigan is fun for like a day. Have fun guys!
Anyone in the LA area happen to have an extra swing arm for an 85 250r kicking around? Have a buddy that's going to the invasion but just discovered his is cracked.
I have a couple,,, can ship right away too

I see that I need a parking permit for my car, but I read somewhere that I need a non-resident OHV permit also. Can someone confirm this and if needed where do you get one?
Correct - parking permit for the tow rig:
http://www.blm.gov/ca/st/en/fo/elcen...ermitinfo.html
Out of state CA OHV Green Sticker for each sand toy:
http://ohv.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=25669
I got mine by mail but probably too late for you now. Duner's Diner sells them and you have to drive right by them when you get there.
This is the list of out of state OHV sticker vendors: http://ohv.parks.ca.gov/pages/1234/f...endor-list.pdf
No, I disagree.
Nobody in our group has ever purchased a non-resident OHV permit and this will be my 4th trip.
In my understanding of the regulation: Provided you are legally registered in your own state you are legal to ride your 3-wheeler in Cali.
I have a valid PA DCNR plate on my 250R. It is zip tied to my grab bar and I am legal.
I also have insurance on mine, but there is no requirement for that, that I have ever seen.
Can a local verify that this is correct.
