Some people do not like the 86's but I like them for the seat. Seeing all that is done to that one if it runs and the frame is not cracked I would think $2000-2500 would not be out of line. I had an 86 and it was a great machine.
Rebuilding and riding trikes everyday and lovin every minute.

You could just put 85/86 seat on 87-92.
    Nice shocks.
    pretty plastic
    axle
rims -one has lip dent, wonder if they are cheap .125" walls
    tires
    skids
Someone spend some money on bolt-ons.
Dont care for the spray paint bombs.
Some things are missing, and some things are extra.
The swingarms on those always break.
    case has damage
    dont think shifter is correct
oil all over front of motor
I would look inside clutch cover through oil fill cap for grooves in clutch basket.

I'd say there's like $1200 in part so I would not offer over $1500 but that's just me and i dont like the 85/86s. Those parts would have been better on later model.

Steer clear of the 1985-86 models, go 1987 and up, any Honda Fourtrax or even a Tecate 4

    Is it your machine?

I've got a couple '86 model LT250R's . One of which had been stored for ten years then, I just cleaned carb, added gas and an air filter (as the original has disintegrated) and it was running like new. I've had that one for a couple of years now and my first problem I am just encountering now which is a bad source coil.

Personally, I think they're cool but they are going to have a few problems every now and then. They are after all, 29 or 30 year old machines.

i would have to say between $1100 and $1500 is what it is worth. you may get $1800 from a buyer who is looking specificalyl for that but that's a maybe and a long time hold out. If you are offered between $1200 and $1600 take it.
Me, your not terribly far from me. i would be willing to offer $1100 for it as i have to drive up to get it from Dallas area. also I see there is a lot of oil leaking around the engine area so that is a turn off. if you want to sell it for closer to $1300 you need to really clean it up nice.

Its from someone I work with that aquired it in a trade and is looking to sell it or trade for a 4x4 for hunting purposes. She was wanting to know what to price it at and I thought you guys would know a pretty accurate value of the machine.
